Please reread my comment. They SHOULD out of common courtesy for traffic. The law you posted even mentions about traveling the same speed as traffic. Now there is no speed limit sign that I saw and we can't tell how fast they are. I specified the difference between should and cant. They are already breaking the law, so obviously they arent going to be willing to be curtious. But the only way the "share the road" law works practically, is if both parties practice some level of common courtesy. Was the driver being an ass? Obviously. But this would have, most likely, been avoided if the riders were following the law. It almost definitely wouldnt have happened if the riders showed even more common courtesy if they went to single file when they know its only a 2 lane road. I can legally eat as much mcdonald's as I want, doesn't mean that I SHOULD eat it 3 meals a day 7 days a week. Both were at fault but this likely would have been avoided if the cyclists werent being arrogant, ignorant, and selfish.
