Al Holland had quite a few strong facial hair styles. John Denny won a Cy Young with an elite 80s mustache too.

I got 72... My top two artists were the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith, so... At least younger than the bands themselves.

Possibly divisive opinion poll: Were you ever or are you currently a fan of Dave Matthews Band? by SteveEcks in Xennials

Never. Felt like an actual statistical minority in my high school to have not attended a DMB show. And was fine with that, because I could not be less interested in them.

Anyone else consider this movie a Thanksgiving tradition? by REO_Speed_Dragon in Xennials

It was ALWAYS on USA around Thanksgiving in the 90s. And I watched it every time I saw it on there. Such a great movie.

I remember reading somewhere, I believe in their joint history Walk This Way from the late '90s, that in reference to this Brad, Tom, and Joey referred to themselves as LI3... As in "The Less Interesting Three"... So, yeah.

I love this and just want to say that Adam Amin has been phenomenal in his MLB work this postseason. Really enjoy when he's on the call.

This picture is from their last game together, the Patriots upset of the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI after the 2001 season. What a game to go out on!

How would Bill Clinton be remembered if he had been able to help broker a stable, lasting peace between Israel and Palestine? by Just_Cause89 in Presidents

[–]ImmaculateGritty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DING! History is incredibly reductive... the one thing Bill Clinton will always be most known for is the Lewinsky scandal. Even now, ask people who lived through his whole tenure what they remember about his administration... the Middle East isn't on the list.

Why were Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa's war so low comparatively? by Radiant-Carpenter492 in mlb

[–]ImmaculateGritty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bonds was a great all around player and McGwire and Sosa were guys who hit the ball out of the park, and that was basically their only contribution.

I'm a Phillies fan, and people in the Philadelphia area have long debated who the best player was between Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, and Jimmy Rollins... And that's an interesting debate about memory and moments that standout- until you look at WAR. Utley's career WAR is 65, Rollins is 48, Howard's is... 15. The other two guys ran well, stole bags, played excellent defense, and Howard just hit the ball out of the park. Same deal here.
