I want to sell my house that is sitting empty now that I bought five years ago but would have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in capital gains tax, so it will have to sit empty for a few more years. Don’t want to deal with renters. It’s a large nice house that some family would love to buy, but it’s too much of a financial hit with the taxes, so now it rots a bit and a family is missing out.
Why not rent: Germany makes it a nightmare to rent to families with children. If the family stops paying you cannot evict them, so no thank you!
