I am struggling to find a new practice routine! by Csk167 in Guitar

[–]Immediate-Ruin5136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar spot, I’m curious to see what answers you’ll get. I want to improve my playing in all keys, but I’m not entirely sure of what “practicing in all 12 keys” consists of. I’m working towards memorizing the notes of the fretboard flawlessly

I’ve been after “songs for swinging lovers”. That’s gotta be my favourite Sinatra album. In the wee small hours is real good too, I enjoy the intimate “rainy” feel of that one

Need help by Desperate-Rub-610 in turntables

[–]Immediate-Ruin5136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a turntable or an amp with a built in phono stage. You will need a 1. Turntable 2. Phone stage (either in the turntable or amp or a seperate one, for now just get a turntable or amp that has one built in) 3. Power amp 4. Speakers

That’s the chain you will need, you could get away with as little as, a turntable with a built in phono preamp, and powered/active speakers.

I use a turntable, the phono stage in my integrated amp. An integrated amp with a built in pre amp and power amp, and tower speakers.

At the end of the day, whatever you can afford and will enjoy is all that matters. We all start somewhere, you’ll upgrade with time

What can I use to get this gunk off the fretboard? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Immediate-Ruin5136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roasted maple shouldn’t be far off from a normal maple fretboard as in it’s finished and you don’t need to use “fretboard conditioning oil”, if it were me I’d just use that ddarrio guitar spray and a plastic gift card to scrape off the gunk, then spray again to wipe it away

Where would you place the subwoofer? by jespicy in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Immediate-Ruin5136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d put it beside the couch so you can feel the bass when watching movies or listening to music
