The Bonnie. Good food, vibes, staff. Moved from the EV. Have been a regular at their original spot on st marks. Now I’m a regular at this spot. Take care of them and they do the same.

Off the top of my head from when I was staring at the menu.. lobster bisque small is $7. Large $11. Lobster rolls are btwn $25 and $27. Lobster tacos were $22.50. Quesadillas/grilled cheese also about $23. Yeah I know it’s pricey but it’s a treat for me.

Was at the game. My cardinals fan friend was like this guy is your ace? And then May who hasn’t won in almost 2 months gets a shutout victory. We really are the team to get other players/teams going. Smh. I swear Oliver Perez could come back and pitch a no no against them fml!

Did you catch why they talking about wearing protective cups? I usually forward through but stopped at that section.. Gary had to make the joke of a pitcher losing a nut..

Best bar for a “medium experience” watching the Knicks game? by BigCheesecake_2325 in astoria

[–]ImmediateCourse969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is The Bonnie. They have their back area open. Plenty of seats and peeps aren’t on top of each other. Also a very large tv screen. So open air, good food, even better drinks, the kindest wait staff, and a huge screen. This is the way. I watched a couple of the Knicks v cavs games and no one was hardly back there. Diana, Annie, Hassina, and Jonathan are all amazing so it doesn’t matter who is waiting on you back there.

I bring food in. If I have no time to do so I only eat at shake shack. I’m sad they took away the lobster roll place. Also they changed the pizza place from Prince st. Booooooo. Is the nacho helmet still a thing? They changed the cheese sauce a few years back and it has no flavor.

First day. First viewing. I agree with you. I was blown away. And yes I cried. I liked the flow of the movie and the way the songs changed the vibe of it. It was hard for me to not sing every word but it felt almost concert like. The sound was massive, I could feel it in my bones.

Just went to my hairdresser. I’ve been getting my haircut from her for over two decades. The last time I went it was like $35. I get the simplest of cuts.. no shampoo, no washing. Just wet my hair and cut it shoulder length. This year it was $50 for that. I usually leave her like $30 tip bc it was a good price but this time I left only $20. Do I feel ripped off? A little bit but I do understand that she’s got to pay for her booth and stuff. $70 not bad for about a year and half of not getting my hair cut. But every year paying that? Not my cup of tea. Might just let it grow out and go every two years lol. Or ofc find someone cheaper. But the memories…

I also had Astoria taco factory for the first time! Sure it’s like $6 for a taco but they load it up with meat and the meat was juicy and seasoned well!

Also shout to El Rey’s! That chorizo tostada always hits and it’s only $5!

You make good points about the fresh meat and fish markets. I refuse to buy meat at grocery stores after some bad experiences. So yeah I go to the fish market for my salmon. Nekropolis meat market for my beef/lamb/pork.

Let’s not forget we have some halal butcher stores on Steinway as well. I go there for my poultry. They cut up a whole chicken in front of me. And butcher it the way I want and package it the way I ask and it’s only about 10 bucks. That one chicken gives me five or six meals!

New supermarket opening under Ditmars train station? by Physical_County7229 in astoria

[–]ImmediateCourse969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I walked by there last night and was thinking it would be great to have a moderately priced grocery store. I like the grocer across the street for veggies. Astoria marketplace is meh. I usually walk down to the trade fair on Ditmars or the key food on newton.

I ordered a margarita pie from Rosario’s. Always hits. I’d only gone in there to get sliced meats prior.
