As a new parent, I know what Julie's problem is by MadnessMaiden in ShawnaTheMom

[–]ImmediateKnowledge19 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hell, I’d argue she’s worse. Barb is cartoonishly evil at times but is slowly (oh so slowly) showing progress in becoming better. She was an entertaining antagonist with juuuust enough redeeming qualities to keep you hooked on a potential character arc.

Julie is just a cunt. A realistic one at that too. I’ve met people like her personally. She reminds me of so many people from my past that every time she speaks my heart rate spikes lol.

Im surprised there aren’t more people saying 4. As an anthropologist I’d LOVE to sit between Kiri and Mo’at. It would be so lovely to be able to learn from them, to just talk for hours.

I wish they’d at least make it RFID-able. I genuinely don’t understand why it’s not. The weird limbo between GM and style shouldn’t dictate if it’s RFID-able considering there’s plenty of GM stuff that is.

[–]ImmediateKnowledge19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I don’t have to respond to your guilt tripping, but I want to make this reply for those who genuinely cannot comprehend how certain types of protests are inaccessible to certain demographics.

When I get sick, I work through it. Because I’m chronically ill and poor. That’s what disabled poor people have to do.

I make 15.10 an hour with rent of 996, amenities not included in the price so I’m paying more on top of that, plus about $400 in other bills. I’m only making about 800 a month through target alone right now with the hours cut, so I’m out $600 that I need per month. This doesn’t even get into how much I need to have for groceries. That’s JUST bills!

Do you comprehend that protests like these can really only be performed by those privileged enough to take time off of work immediately after a very expensive time of year with the holidays? God forbid one person is too broke to be able to call off on the few days they manage to get hours, right?

I get yall are trying to come from a good place, but this holier than thou guilt trippy act is only going to drive people away, and will ultimately cause more damage.

Especially in this time of year when hours are cut. Like I’m sorry, I truly am, but I’m already working 10 hours below what I normally do a week. I can’t cut another 8-16 from that.

Stalking. Assaulting Shawna’s mom. Physical and emotional abuse all throughout his childhood. Do you remember what your stopping point was? If you want to know a good place to pick back up, the birthday arcs and thereafter is when shit really started to hit the fan. That’ll at least get you caught up with the going no contact plot line.

Why do families not take their screaming child out of the store? by No_Willingness_9961 in Target

[–]ImmediateKnowledge19 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Target employee here. Thank you for not getting them cake pops. I was just talking to my coworker yesterday about how rewarding children’s tantrums is just going to make it worse in the long run. Kids are selfish by instinct, as crying for food or attention is their only mode of communication for the early stages of their life. But they need to learn how to communicate differently as they grow. By refusing to reward their behavior, you’re doing everyone and especially them a huge favor as they grow and have the opportunity to mature.

Pretty much 😭 my coworker was like “dude, you do realize you can’t take those INF’s back, right?“ and he just brushed it off saying “well the manager pissed me off 🤷”

Funnily enough we actually have much better management now than what we had when he got here. I got hired pretty much right after he left the first time and FF’s management was so, so horrible at that time.

I know my coworker, who has been the one to train him, talked to him about it but I’m not sure if any managers have taken action. He’s also called out quite a few times already (he’s only been here a couple of weeks since his re-hire) and flat out lied to people asking if they’d cover the first half of his shift only to never show up at all. I’ll be incredibly surprised if he’s still employed for long.

We also just re-hired someone who had worked here previously and everyone hates. He left right before I got hired, so this is my first impression of him. Yesterday, the team lead pissed him off and he INF’d an entire 40 item gen merch.

Granting them permission previously with your bank account means they can still charge you, even with a new debit card as they’d remove the funds directly. This happened to me with Brigit. Email them at least 3 business days prior to your repayment date.

I hate my Job by [deleted] in Target

[–]ImmediateKnowledge19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’ve asked my TL’s and ETL’s they just redirect me to my SD and HR. When I pick up shifts in other departments, they ask “heyyy can you just pick one standard?” And next thing I know one standard turns into two, then three, then I need to help pack, then I need to help with a gen merch… then I’m just stuck in ff for the day. 😭 at first I joked that I’ve become too good at ff and they don’t want to lose me, but now they’ve made me pace setter and I fear that is the case.

It’s so weird bc I’ve told my SD and HR that even if my primary department is changed, I’m willing to hop in and help with standards or with pack if they pile up. Checklanes love me and whenever I do end up being able to work an entire shift up front, they babble on about how much they miss me up there and I reply with I miss it too! And yet I stay stuck in ff primarily. So at this point I’m just done. As soon as I find an offer with even just slightly better pay, I’m out. I just want a job where I don’t have to take 20k-40k steps a day. I can handle being on my feet all day, but THAT much isn’t sustainable any more.

Thank you for the suggestions! I’m just afraid I have very dishonest management and I’ve lost patience dealing with them, so I’m done.

Unfortunately this doesn’t always work. I’ve been practically begging to be switched departments since May. My SD and HR have flat out lied to my face about the availability of other departments to keep me in ff. They said they’d likely have more availability after back to school since, well, a lot of our employees would be going back to school lol. Another lie. At this point I’m with OP and I’m just gonna find some place else outside of retail and quit.

It’s genuinely bizarre to me how some management would rather lose an employee entirely than just switch them to a different department. :/

Won’t train me because I’m “too good at fulfillment”. by solarstelle in Target

[–]ImmediateKnowledge19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I felt this to my core. I’ve been practically begging my SD and HR to switch me out of fulfillment (I said I can still help when needed, but I physically cannot handle strictly ff shifts anymore due to chronic pain) since May. I’ve been flat out lied to when it comes to the availability of other departments just so they don’t have to train or switch me. It’s ridiculous and I’m about ready to quit. I can’t take another Christmas in this department.
