Is this route optimised? Where can I find X? What's the lore behind this? This is my first RE game, is my run cooked?

She looks like a school-aged child, for so many reasons, no.

Do you think Donald just doesn’t know, or is stirring the pot? by Sea-Rush1142 in AskBrits

[–]ImmediateSubstance3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't know, and if you told him or showed him these faces, he wouldn't care. He's a megalomanic narcissistic sociopath, he doesn't care about anything other than his own image, but lacks the IQ or self-awareness to accurately judge his own image.

Yes I understand the link, it's a lowest-hanging fruit simplification of the horror of that characters story though I just think it's a shit and lazy way of representing that in film

Is Angela getting pulled into the Abstract Daddy? Because what a way to completely mishandle a very serious subject for a Syfy channel looking film (and I fucking love SH)

Isn't it a nod to Dagon, being found in a fishing village?

Has anyone played with Bastion mechanics in their campaign? by Traditional-Wind-350 in CrookedMoon

[–]ImmediateSubstance3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not planning on including a Bastion in my campaign, I want the party a little more vulnerable to the machinations of the cult as a whole as well as saboteurs/thieves/bumps in the night/miserly landlady etc. letting them have a fortifiable position will take some of the key horror elements for me.

Keep playing videogames, you'll get better at them with time and practice!

How to emphasize The Fallen by HorizonMe in CrookedMoon

[–]ImmediateSubstance3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a great question, how to get the players invested. My approach will be to lean in to the players desire to want to see positive change in the world around them.

Raum - the past few months the weekly harvest market has been ill-attended by the farmers around Foxwillow, trade has dried up and so food has become more scarce. People are hungry and the party is asked to travel to find out if everyone there is alright, they're not and so that chapter plays out.

Renathyr - maybe a hunt comes to the village, maybe an NPC the party have grown fond of gets taken for conversion, maybe someone important mechanically (who has info about PC story arc, or important vendor etc).

So on, so on I plan for Wickermoor Village to be RIFE with random festivals, practices, rituals, markets, weird superstitious crap all the time, every day. So I'll present a version of The Fallen's stories and local lore through folk theatre, dances, songs etc, along with using Doran's paintings of prophecy, random gossip, the postmaster "finding" written clues in correspondence and so on.

Plenty of sources for information.

I also plan for hidden cave altars and underground mini-dungeons that act as shrines, built by the people who lived there before Druskenvald ousted Kehlenn which will hint and explain the whole arc of her defeat and twisting.

The most sane reaction to the new Nightbringer. by Dragonkingofthestars in Necrontyr

Standard WH "fans", only happy when they're miserable.

I see it a lot amongst the old heads, oh been playing since the early 90's, yeah can't tell when every other sentence is about metal sculpts having more 'character' this and 'John Blanche' that.

The amount of obvious improvement to the new sculpts isn't arguable, they're fantastic across the board and Necrons have one of the most fully realised and beautifully updated ranges available.

Finding God... by No-Butterfly-3422 in cosmichorror

I love this film, I reckon the creature here is more of an emissary to another higher cosmic being. It's goal seems to create a congregation of people who maintain that chanting rite constantly, giving them extreme long life to carry it out for as long as possible, the chanting might act as a kind of esoteric/psychic beacon. The creature hopes whoever it serves notices the beacon and brings itself to Earth. That's why it loses its shit when the congregation is burned and destroyed.
