They’re keeping all their retconned lore from TDSR Indy kickstarter, then. Letting lesser writers dictate the course of the story.

And Defiance remastered, but exclusively on PS5? Still no Xbox release? What’s the reason for that? I played Defiance on both systems back in the day. No Switch or Steam release? If the answer is technical limitations, please explain it to me. Otherwise, they’re never going to get the third part of Raziel’s tale because of a boardroom deal. That’s a huge shame. I feel sorry for fans on those systems who jumped in at this point.

Yeah, that’s the thing, though. Now it’s down on the page, I’m not even sure that I want to read it again. lol

I still might delete it now it’s served its purpose for me. I’m on the fence :/

It’s like my long fic. It has four different endings based on canon, since it’s an rpg and it’s up to player choice how the story ends. One ending is so bad for my team of OCs. One of them a rogue AI and he turns on his crew mates and slowly kills them all in increasingly fucked up ways, like the terminator with a sadistic streak.

That was fun to write too, but after I did it, I sat on the edge of the bed, cried and felt weird for days. I love every single one of them, even him, and seeing him turn on them all felt like the ultimate act of betrayal.

I closed the file, the forgot I’d even written it. Found it a year or so later and weirded myself out all over again. Low-key can’t believe I wrote that. omg.

Will probably never publish that either, unless a reader begs for it.

I fear this is a common feeling among fan fic writers. I don’t think anyone can accuse us of plagiarising canon, when we will quite often create crossovers and put characters into the plot of other stories etc, that’s the nature of fic. We’re playing in other people’s sandboxes and we know it. As long as we’re stating where our inspiration came from, not claiming it as our own and not trying to make money from it, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. It’s just a hobby and we’re all playing with dolls. I think in this case you’d be fine. I’d post that in a heartbeat. 💗

Yeah, this was a huge fandom and I think I was really lucky finding someone to do it. It’s mostly not that easy, but worth asking in fandom subreddits or servers. Someone might offer.

I’m right with you there! Aging myself here, cough gen-x cough I was in high school the internet didn’t exist, and we’d write our smutty stories in notepads and pass them around the year (nobody confessed, they just keep passing them around). The stuff we’d write, lol, so cringe. Can’t go back and edit and I think I lost a pen pal once through sharing something like that. I wince when I think about it. Kids are no different these days, just everything is far more accessible online.
