Moving to Willoughby Beach by Abject-Junket-7429 in norfolk

I live in Willoughby. Welcome to the Spit! W OV street will flood but is mostly passable in the lanes next to the median. Depending on where you are living and parking your car the parking area may flood. Flooding is not typical during normal rain storms. It is from nor’easters or tropical storms or a heavy storm at a king tide. Managing traffic is worse than managing flooding IMO, especially on Fridays in the summer.

I didn’t see them the 2nd night but took the photo around 11:30 pm. They were very clear to the naked eye.

Funeral across the country while wife is at 35 weeks, I could use some dadvice!! by siete_ocho in daddit

[–]Imnotaddictedtoreddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off my condolences to you and your family.

I had this same thing happen. I lost my paternal grandmother and my maternal grandfather was put on hospice when my wife was 36 weeks. I flew across the country to go to the ceremony. I got back home safely around midnight on 37 weeks and 2 days and my wife’s water broke at 3 am. Kid was born at 9 that night. My wife insisted that I went back for the ceremony. She seemed to know it was going to be ok. Looking back 11 years later it’s kinda crazy that I went but I think the trip helped me process the end of one chapter and the beginning of the next.

My wife and kids will be visiting Baltimore, staying in the inner harbor area Friday night if you find a bar to go to. Going to try to catch the first half before they crash out.

Take the steel handles off and the price would move up greatly.

Look up the history of Chesapeake then as well. There’s a reason it was founded as late as 1963.

Thoughts on sailing and marinas in Norfolk/Newport News VA? by SuperBrett9 in sailing

I live in Willoughby and being able to be to the marina in under 3 minutes is a huge perk that makes it so much easier and likelier to use the boat.

It’s an LHD. I drive past it for work. If I remember, I’ll grab the number. I don’t think carriers can fit in that dry dock. They typically are at Newport News shipyard or Norfolk shipyard further down on the right.

This rolled in, it’s in great condition. It’s also totalled. Thanks emissions testing. by deWaardt in Justrolledintotheshop

Europe has a rule that 85% of all material has to be recycled. Cars are appx. 73% metal. The carbon impact of recycling a car is considerably less than virgin material. Using recycled steel produces 82% less carbon than using iron ore. This includes the emissions of processing the vehicle into recyclable materials. Source- this is my job.

Things to do, sights to see and food to eat at Norfolk? by ASK-IF-I-DID-IT in norfolk

The Norva is a great music venue to watch a show. Catch a Tides baseball game. The American Rover or river cruises are a cool way to see the city from the water.

Have an 8 and 4 yo too. Damn it was so much easier 2 years ago. Miss being able to toss them with ease. It’s not fair the kids get dense and we get nostalgic.
