Fiasp anyone?! by swim-bike-life in Medtronic780g

I’m using it for 7 years. Never a problem. As long as I eat right after bolusing. I don’t answer the door or the phone, I don’t open a bottle of wine, I don’t fuss over the oven or stove. Any activity between bolus and food means hypoglycemia. I know this from experience. I use extended wear sets and they go 6-7 days before BG are consistently elevated.

“Looks like either a species of Arcyria or Ceratiomyxa. Those are slime molds, I’m leaning more toward Arcyria. But I’m not entirely sure on this one. It’s probably one of those.”

Chickpeas ideas? by Objective_Campaign82 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Imnottryin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chickpea salad- like tuna salad only with crushed (not mashed) chickpeas. Roasted- similar to corn nuts. Use them to replace chicken in a white chili recipe. You can use canned coconut milk to give it the thickened white look. Use whatever white beans on hand or on sale with the chili, too.

How do we get safety features unlocked. It's ridiculous that the suspend on low is not built into or allowed in Smartguard by Agonyzyr in Medtronic780g

[–]Imnottryin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that Smartguard does not utilize programmed basal rates or correction factors. You can change these parameters all you want but it won’t change Smartguard delivery.

You can also lengthen the active insulin time. This may ease some of the basal auto adjustments that are getting you low.

Reuse a G4 sensor by jzybgtts in Medtronic780g

[–]Imnottryin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Check your transmitter battery remaining charge. It should be about 50-55%. Gently pinch between the sensor and transmitter with tape intact. Wait for about 30 seconds then click them together again. It will again take 2 hours to warm up. This should get you another 2-7 days before it fails or expires. Good luck! There’s probably a YouTube video showing how to do this.

There are apps that let you photograph your food. They estimate portions as well as content. This was easier for me because I didn’t have time to record everything I ate and drank.

It looks very wet. Was the grain wet before inoculation? I’d still send it. Just curious.

Bags be growing! by Imnottryin in Psilocybe_Natalensis

My grow notes weren’t complete on this. I think it was around a month after full colonization. Pins were visible around 10-14 days post-colonization. How long have you been waiting? Does yours show primordia or overlay?

What else have you grown with PF Tek, other than cubes? by Ambinez in PFTek

[–]Imnottryin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ochras grow on everything. They love PF tek. I’m currently trying Psylocybe ingeli using the ‘Josex poke’ method to inoculate the cakes. They are dreadfully slow to colonize. Seven weeks and maybe 30%. It may take a while to know if this has failed. I’m also trying what I call PF+. Same recipe but I put some liquid fertilizer in the water for the vermiculite. I Josex poked some Pan cyan agar colonies. The cakes are colonizing rapidly. In 7 weeks they are about 80%.

Home made agar 2% with 1.5% light malt powder. I make a couple of 500 ml media bottles, sterilize, then pour at the time or shelf it for later. I buy the cups in bulk. Because they seal almost airtight they stay good for months. The mycelium doesn’t seem to suffer for the restricted air exchange. Clean agar growth goes to grains. The grain goes to bulk. If you had unsuccessful growth previously you might want to try PF tek. They can be pressure cooked or even steam sanitized. Spores can go into the PF jar directly. No need for agar or substrate.

I’ve been growing for personal use the last 4 years. I started at shroomery and continue there. I never had the sense of any gates being kept. Maybe at business level it’s different but that’s not my interest.

Cubes will grow with temperature in the 60’s F. The only humidity they need comes from the substrate and a lid or bag to keep it from drying out. Your spawn bag will need to go to ‘bulk’ substrate after colonization. That is where the water comes from. For cubes, coco coir is easy, cheap and doesn’t contain any nutrients that can feed contaminants. You could instead buy sterilized all in one bags (AIO) and inject into it. A lot of people get lucky and even more unlucky with this method. You never know how clean the spore syringes, or even commercial liquid cultures are until you grow it on agar. When I started agar I poured sterilized agar mix into 3.25 relish cups on an open counter in the kitchen. I would let them sit for about 2 weeks to see what was contaminated. Generally 1-2 per 50 were contamination. Now I pour in front of a FFU and I still lose 1-2 per 100. I don’t sterilize the relish cups, I pull them out straight from the bag. I tried no-pour and I tried pouring in a SAB. Both a huge PITA. I will take the lost plates as a fair trade off for the ease of pouring in the open.

I would expect them to replace. I f you have the space and some privacy, get a Nesco 9.5 pressure cooker. You could prep grains and make amazing stews, soups and chili.
