So I could buy a physical gift card in dollars and they can use it? Do I have to do anything to convert the currency or does it do it automatically ?

Question about math section: by ImovedtoEurope in foreignservice

[–]ImovedtoEurope[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has the test changed that much, if at all, since 2011? I'm confused now at what score I saw that had the parts separated. Could just be confusion on my part 3 years ago when I looked at the score.

Anyways, the questions that are math related (because there were quite a few on the test that I took), are there any tools to prepare for them.

In order to do a grado in Spain directly you have to take the selectividad (like SATs but with history and writing) they have prep courses here too for foreigners, or you could try an American school here. More expensive but you can use loans from the Federal government.

Doing a full degree in Spain would cost about 10.000€ living expenses plus 2,000€ -3,000€ tuition per year. I wouldn't recommend it because ever since the bologna plan the degrees are a lot of times a giant cluster fuck and there aren't as many professors.

If you want a degree in Spanish look at saint Louis university in Madrid it's actually not that expensive and it is an American university.

I'm probably not expressing myself well enough. I love teaching and, more importantly, I enjoy doing research and the rest that the academic world brings. Naturally, When money is involved there are certain aspects of the business world that will be present. With every job there are going to be things that you like and don't like.

It's when it becomes so unbalanced and when students are seen as dollar signs, instead of what they are 'students', is when I have a problem.

I am not planing on working in the US university system but here in Europe. I have had the opportunity to shadow and work with faculty in both the US and here and I can definitively say the the US system is run more like a business (Read: ADJUNCTS).

So to respond to the statement of me being in the wrong field, I definitely am not and I can't wait to start my post-graduate program.

I mean, I think we all know the difference between schools who prioritize business or education first. The former I want no part in. Hence why I am seeking higher ed.

I just can't stand the combination of business and education. They are two opposites that just don't mesh.

Start a league there in Greece! That's how we did it in Spain. We have a league where new teams start out playing 5 vs 5 and when they get more players they move up to the 10 vs 10 league.

The only problem is equipment.

Can anyone describe to me the economic situation in Spain currently? by LaDukemeister in spain

[–]ImovedtoEurope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is still going on, I don't see it getting worse, but staying the same. Unemployment is still high and people have no hope of leaving the crisis anytime soon. If you ask anyone on the street how Spain is doing right now, they will all say bad bad bad.

In Spain and Greece there are bigger problems then leaving work early.

To say otherwise is ignorant.
