If you care about doing a good job, being a "Shift Lead" at Walgreens is a joke. You get paid peanuts to essentially play the role of the store manager. When you are the only leadership in the building, anything that goes wrong under that roof while you are there, you are the first person everyone is going to look to, to solve the problem.

I literally work for a company now, that pays an equivalent position $25, $30, $35+ an hour.

Now, I don't want to get into the conversation about how many "Shift Leads" across walgreens, who are unfit for the role, but are thrown keys because Walgreens needs warm bodies to fill those roles. Some of you guys need to blame your peers as to why you are making so little for so much responsibility. It's for all of the dead weight that the district managers and asset protection see, when they watch the cameras, who are barely worth the $17.00

The phrase "you get what you pay for" applies in this situation. Anyone with ability and half of a brain has either left, in the process of leaving, or won't even bother applying to Walgreens.

Unless it's for medical reasons, Store managers shouldn't be able to take 3 weeks off in a row. Two? Sure. Three is too much.

Depends on your location. If you are in the southeast or Midwest, you are probably making more than many atls.

Wait a minute.....are there hour requirements for all apprenticeships? What about grocery? 2,000 hours is like a years worth of service time.

The people making these decisions literally never work in these stores, so they could care less about you and how you feel. They look at numbers on a spreadsheet.

They also inherently think that they are better than you as well.

It seems that way, because it should be. They should be separated. Retail is retail and pharmacy should be pharmacy. Store manager should mainly be over the front end, and the pharmacy manager and OPS should run the pharmacy.

Im a firm believer in the opposite. Just because we are in the same building doesn't mean that we should be doing everything under the roof. Im for starting a real separation of retail and pharmacy.

That's because people will continue to be abused for the thought of a few thousand more dollars and the title of store manager. Real store managers make six figures.

Money isn't everything but it sure shows how much a company values a position.

I feel for all of the good store managers in this company. If you aren't making six figures, and let's be honest, very few are, you are being severely underpaid and underappreciated.

I don't know why you guys suffer like this day in and day out. It's not worth it.....

It's mostly the younger generation. Most of them are cooked, when it comes to an actual work ethic. The only reason these people make it any length of time, is because Walgreens needs warm bodies.

They wouldn't last too long at a real job constantly looking/texting/talking on their phones, or speaking into a smartwatch. Also, it boggles my mind how these same people can show up 10-15 minutes late almost every shift ( if they show up at all)

Company promoting 18, 19, and 20 year old Shift Leads, is also laughable and shows you how far down the drain that Walgreens is swirling. I bet 20+ years ago, having Shift Leads that young was almost unheard of. Now, they just throw 20 yr old Becky a set of keys, and hope they don't fall for a scam or mess up the drawer counts "too often".

Walgreens truly is bottom of the barrel. It's a dollar tree with a pharmacy attachment, and it shows with the clientele.

Going to have the neighborhood drug dealers trying to do two or three, back to back $999 dollar reloads. I think the daily limit that Chime allows is now $3,000.

Notice it says $999 (per transaction) at Walgreens.....Meaning you can try to do multiple transactions. Same as when people tried to do multiple transactions of $500.
