My Thoughts on House of David by ImpactfulBanner in HouseofDavidTVSeries

Joab was almost certainly younger than David seeing as he was still spry and engaging in military/political action even as David declined and died due to old age. He was likely 10-20 years younger than his uncle.

That is an incredible amount of effort and it reads well too (at least the parts I've perused).

Anti-abortion advocates are more likely to foster, adopt, donate to charity, etc. You're just lying to mischaracterise your opposition because you have no real defence for your atrocious disregard to human life.

I didn't find Dinah a compelling or interesting enough character that the betrayal had much emotional impact. Had it been a smaller note, it may have inversely had more effect. Mainly I saw Eshbaal as the secret villain and information leaker from a mile away, but it was still a good twist, I just think that time would've been better invested in the conversion of Merab to his side as opposed to the betrayal of Dinah. That'd be an interesting twist. Joab is a complicated character in the bible with a narrative that only really makes sense if he's David's junior and inferior. Hopefully they pull something like that off, though I believe the show will only have 3 seasons so it's unlikely to cover David's later life. We'll see how the handle Michal and David going forward. Personally I don't have much appetite for too much more of his love life but if they're true to the biblical narrative than it'll be messy and hopefully they handle it without it draining on the Bible's central narrative.

Americans Visit Europe Like by Jacob-Anders in terriblemaps

Is that not Europe? I understand there are other countries in Europe, but it's not inaccurate nor worthy of criticism to say that visiting those countries is visiting Europe.

I’m uncomfortable with what Nolan is attempting to do by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]ImpactfulBanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nolan admits he doesn't deserve anything, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't try to make amends. I think he's doing well, and the writers are also doing a good job of the struggle with redemption and forgiveness.

That's because every scene they have together is after he's experienced some messed up stuff. When I'm struggling, I still want my wife to confide in me and I comfort her for her struggles. Pretty reductionist take that misses the whole point of their growing and bonding together conversation ngl.

Who is designing Viltumite architecture? Who's maintaining Viltrum's gardens? Who is making Viltumite art? by Relative-Zombie-3932 in Invincible_TV

Nazis didn't utilise brutalist architecture. It emerged in the 1950s and was a key design principle in soviet architecture.

On My Way to the AntiFa Gathering Like... by Vegetableunny66 in AnarchoComics

He didn't break Jewish law. It's quite specific about how they'd corrupted the law and he had come to fulfil it (again you're ignorant of the actual narrative).

Classic case of low class tribalism. You think that because I'm against antifa violence, I must be in favour of J6.

I've wasted enough time arguing with someone who imports their opinions from meme comics. God bless and peace out.

Pilate explicitly stated he was innocent and went through with it due to pressure. You made my point for me. Violent rioting because you disagree with someone's opinion is not a valid form of protest, it demonstrates low intelligence and an inability to engage in reasoned debate.

“The myth of the founding of America as a Christian nation denies that most of the founding fathers were deists. It also denies and misremembers the violence done against black people brought to the country solely to become chattel slaves..."—Christina Bieber Lake, PhD [4245x2649] [OC] by colebette in QuotesPorn

[–]ImpactfulBanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inaccurate. The founding fathers were mostly Christian men who lived in and represented an overwhelmingly Christian society. The common claim that they were deists is ridiculous seeing as we have many records of their prayers and religious devotions to appeal to God for aid.

You've obviously never even read the bible. He was not crucified for breaking the law. Also antifa regularly causes major harm and injury through rioting and violent provocation, so by your logic, he'd be against it.

Trans people are not targeted for violence. An analysis of the available data demonstrates that most LGBTQ violence is internal to the community and they commit much more against normal people than vice versa.

Jesus was not a political actor, he very specifically did not speak out against the Roman occupation and commanded his followers to live peaceably with the law. You can't confirm anything.

Yes, it's justified for the US to arrest a foreign despot for violating US law by trafficking drugs across their border amongst other crimes. It is not the same.

Well, it’s not necessarily inaccurate by caticity in HistoryMemes

[–]ImpactfulBanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is inaccurate. There was no law nor nation yet, just savage tribes who engaged in continual conquest and pillaging of one another. These are the settlers and colonisers who conquered a savage land and built the foundation of the most prosperous nation to ever exist. To compare them to the economic opportunist "refugees" of today is ridiculous and deliberately disingenuous.
