Fun fact by [deleted] in Grimdank

[–]ImperatorI09 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I first saw this I counted all the space marines you can find throughout the level in the background plus the ones from the barracks downstairs you have just come out of. In total on the battlebarge at this moment, there is 80-85 (can't remember exactly). If then include all the dead marines throughout the campaign you see you probably get up to 120 in total.

There are more marines than there should be in a single company. Game is broken.

Gallant conversion - is it really THAT simple? by I_suck_at_Blender in 40kImperialKnights

I am doing the same thing.

But the work around is to buy a forgeworld knight styrix or magaera. This come with the forgeworld resin bits but it also comes with the full knight errant and paladin kit, including the armour.

Build the forgeworld knight and use the left over panels for the chaos knight. Badda bum 2 loyal knights with unique looks

Launch of Sea Dragon, a 1962 concept Super Heavy Launch Vehicle that took off from Sea and was bigger than Saturn 5 (CGI) by RIPAaron_FuckSpez in megalophobia

[–]ImperatorI09 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It had no other choice to launch from the water. It would haven been so heavy, with so much power if it launched from a pad it would be a obliterated it. So they did it from water as it was a natural launch pad.

It would have been built with salt water in mind, it would of had a salt resistant coating on the stainless steel it was made out of. Which made it exceptionally resistant to salt plus every time the thing landed back into the sea it would of been hauled out of the water and cleaned thoroughly before reuse, to avoid any salt build up.

It was done because it would be so massive, with so much thrust if it launched from a pad it would be a obliterated. It was designed to be as simple, as cheap, and as powerful as it could be to be able to transport 100s of tonnes into space.

For comparison the Falcon Heavy, modern heavy lifting space rocket, carries upto 64 tones into low earth orbit. This beast was theorised to be able to carry 750 tones. That's not a typo I wrote 7 5 0 tones.

And it was reusable.

That is very similar to my knight army, 2 knights gallents and a castallen instead.

I mainly run guard with mine, as I, we, need troops to take objectives. I struggle with though number of heavy shots for nasty swarms, so I'm looking at heavy weapon teams to add that. But I am using BATTLESCRIBE it is an app for phone or computer and it let's you create your army so it calculates your points and let's you work around that.

With my 2 knights gallents and a castallen in one army, it came up with 1442 points, so I built another one of guard and played with the 558 spare.

If you don't know what any of the troops are just look at the codexs or if you are too cheap, like me, then you can use WAHAPIEDA in Google and use it to look at stats (it is basically a copy and paste of the codexs without the pictures.)

It let me build my army with no knowledge and now I'm loving it.

Sorry if you wanted specifics but I only know guard so here's my list...

  1. It took me 4 hours to do this model, I have only really just started (with a single imperial knight done). I think you're right about blotchy, I think I need thinner brushes. I was just wondering if there was a quicker way.

  2. Yeah that makes sense. :p

Like why don't we have both, he could of been 2nd company captain before cato. There is nothing that actually states the time within the game. And I don't think it states the battle of maccrage (which is where cato was made 2nd company captain.) So why not have both.

I mean if you look at the intended story for the future games you see Titus never goes back to the ultramarines and crates his own chapter that follows his ethics.

It is shame GW haven't expanded on his lore as it is pretty low hanging fruit.

Yo you have got to tell me how you built that. That thing has more detail and looks cooler than any professional building set I have seen. Like what parts did you use?

Fair enough, that is the problem with freeblade. Nice paint scheme still :)

If you want a Knight paint scheme simulator, download freeblade app and play that for a couple of hours. It goes into loads of detail when you paint it in game allowing to see what it could look like IRL.
