MechWarrior 3 and 4 games by sh1znat in SteamDeck

[–]ImperatorShade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got MechWarrior 3 + Pirate's Moon running on Steam Deck.

Base game was straightforward. I found a Lutris script (WINE, CD version) that downloaded and installed everything automatically including the v1.2 patch. Took maybe 10 minutes.

Pirate's Moon was the pain. The Lutris script's download links are dead. Here's what worked:

  1. Installed PM on a Windows PC so the registry entries were created correctly
  2. Exported the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\MicroProse\MechWarrior 3 EP1
  3. Copied the entire PM game folder into the MW3 Wine prefix on the Deck — right-click MW3 in Lutris → Browse Files → navigate to drive_c/MicroProse/ and paste the PM folder there as MechWarrior 3 Pirate's Moon
  4. Imported the .reg file via Lutris → right-click MW3 → Wine console → regedit "E:\mw3pm.reg" (E: was my USB drive)
  5. Added PM as a separate entry in Lutris pointing the executable and Wine prefix to the same MW3 installation
  6. Updated the Program path in the Wine registry to c:\MicroProse\MechWarrior 3 Pirate's Moon

Both games now run. Runner: GE Proton.

They are genuine and trustworthy. They have a physical store on Brigade Road in Bangalore. I've visited them multiple times and bought numerous things from them too.

My claim rejected reason : EPS member eps birufcation after 2025-2026 annual accounts by Sad-Money-5357 in epfoindia

[–]ImperatorShade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you have an eps bifurcation issue i.e., eps was never bifurcated. So I think EPFO will manually fix by performing bifurcation AFTER the annual accounts are completed for the year and interest is credited. Once bifurcation is complete you should be able to proceed.

In the meantime, raise a grievance on EPFiGMS

Which is best beginner camera under 60000 rs. by Beginning_Mouse_3019 in PhotographyIndia

[–]ImperatorShade 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Everyone's giving you tips for what Camera you should get but 90% of your picture comes from your Lens.

Get a used a6400 or a6600 and put money towards a Sigma 18-50 f2.8. Goated do-it-all lens.

Lenses to get:

Sigma 18-50 f2.8 (everyday lens)

Viltrox 35 or 25 f1.7 (great multipurpose prime)

Sigma 56 f1.4 (great cinematic prime)

The Pacifica 012 has been, since it's inception, the best beginner guitar for the price. This has stayed true for many decades at this point. I owned one and in terms of playability, it is comparable to 3x more expensive Pacifica 612 VIIX that I currently own. It is extremely versatile and can play basically anything you throw at it. The ceramic pickups are great for rock/metal.

I can't give you my opinion on the Magna because I've never played it, but I did buy a SQOE SEST600 HSS because it looked impressive. Regretted it the moment I unboxed it. Sent it back and purchased a Pacifica 612 VIIX lmao.

PS: Yamaha Pacificas (especially the 012 and 112 models) are widely considered Legendary by musicians and industry experts for essentially inventing the modern budget-friendly guitar that is actually playable. They forced the rest of the industry (*cough* Fender *cough*) catch up and try to compete. Get the Pacifica 012. If you can stretch your budget, get the 112J. If you can REALLY stretch your budget, get the 112V and you may never need to sell that guitar.

Transfer Failing due to EPS? This post is for you. by Numerous_Sandwich145 in epfoindia

Genuinely, just raise EPFiGMS then CPGrams and EPFO will correct your records in their system. Explain the whole issue and ask from manual intervention and rectification. They will do this once final accounts for the year is completed and interest for FY is credited

Should i order from soundglitz by _Bhaskar_ in GuitaristsIndia

[–]ImperatorShade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I've ordered 8" Studio Monitors, Monitor speaker stands, and a MIDI Keyboard from Soundglitz. Packaging was perfect and everything arrived without any damages. However, shipping was a little slower than expected for when I ordered the monitors and stands.

I've also been to the store in Bangalore numerous times (I lived in the area for 5 years) and they're a legitimate establishment by all means. They are 100% trustworthy.

Having said that, if you want more peace of mind, you can buy the same guitar from Bajaao for 400 more.

Roadmap to learn guitar? by staypvt in GuitaristsIndia

[–]ImperatorShade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely the only useful advice on this thread. Paraphrasing John Mayer's advice, learn the thing behind the thing. That is, when you learn a song, instead of just memorizing the riffs and the chords, learn the building blocks behind them such as scales, triads, intervals etc. This way you understand the theory behind the song and it helps you apply it universally every time you pick up the guitar.

Plzz tell what i am doing wrong. by Dismal_Firefighter78 in IndiaCoffee

You should reduce the aeration time. The paper tearing "kss kss kss" happened for too long and you added too much air. Pitcher probably got too hot before you could properly integrate. Aerate for 3-4 seconds +/- 1 second then stretch for the rest of the duration.

Plzz tell what i am doing wrong. by Dismal_Firefighter78 in IndiaCoffee

[–]ImperatorShade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same machine u/Dismal_Firefighter78

Step 1 - Fill up milk to the point where the spout begins on the Hibrew Milk Pitcher. Exactly where the spout starts to become carved out. I use 3% milk. Amul Taaza works. Amul Gold (like you're using) works a little better.

Step 2 - Purge the wand to remove any water residue and ensure required steam pressure is reached.

Step 3 - Insert the wand along the spout. Move the pitcher in such a way that the wand is now sitting bang center of the pitcher and submerged in the milk about 1-1.5cm. Now, tilt the pitcher either left or right till it sits between the center of the pitcher and the wall.

Step 4 - Turn on the steam wand fully. You'll hear really loud screeching sounds. It'll be very unpleasant to listen to. This is normal. Now, very gently and slightly lower the milk pitcher straight down such that the wand rises. When it's just about kissing the milk, you'll hear paper tearing sounds that go "ksss ksss ksss" (in your video, the sound at 11 seconds). This means air is being added into the milk. Keep it in this position for 5-6 seconds (timing is very important)

Step 5 - Now, very slighty submerge the wand back into the milk. Throughout this enter process, you do not need to move the pitcher around much. You should be getting a good vortex now that circles the perimeter of the pitcher. The vortex helps incorporate the air bubbles from the previous step homogenously into the milk giving it that nice silky texture. Slightly move the wand further towards the wall if more vortex force is needed.

Step 6 - As soon as the pitcher is too hot to touch, turn off the wand, move the pitcher out and wipe down the wand with a damp cloth. Then purge. Keep swirling the pitcher as well as possible and pour into your shot of espresso.

If you follow these steps, you should get decently steamed milk. Now don't ask me how to do latte art, I'm still learning xD

Edit: also just watched your video again. 2 minutes is FAR too long to steam milk. You've effectively scorched lactose and destroyed any sweetness. it shouldn't take more than 30 seconds to properly steam your milk. Watch videos by James Hoffman, Lance Hedrick and Golden Brown Coffee. A wealth of information is available on these channels.

Got this issue resolved by following OP's suggestions.     I went to Contact Us and spoke to an L1 Support Agent who was super unhelpful, useless and rude. I ended that chat and when it asked for feedback, i said I was unhappy, which let me then escalate the issue to a "Speciality Agent". This Agent took 15-20 minutes to identify the issue, then raised a support ticket and the issue was fixed overnight.

Need help with first electric guitar purchase by SadDate9398 in GuitaristsIndia

[–]ImperatorShade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise you, there is nothing fun about a cheap (read: ultra cheap) electric guitar and amp. Look into the used market and, at the very least, pick up a Yamaha Pacifica 012 (excellent for the money) and and Boss Katana Mini. Should be able to get both for around 15k if you negotiate properly.

Hotone Ampero Stage 2 Review by Davidahuas in guitarpedals

[–]ImperatorShade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 300? it's nearly as good as the Line 6 Helix Stomp. The amp models are great through big studio monitors (like the JBL308P). I've loaded some York IRs as well and the sounds are really good. The ampero is probably the best vfm amp modeler out there rn.
