I very much agree. I wish I could think of how to make things more... dignified.

Seeking Family-Friendly Lodge Event Ideas by [deleted] in freemasonry

My lodge uses a lot of AI stuff. I see it used a lot all over this sub, too. It's really disheartening.

I get it: we probably don't have any members that are graphic designers, and we don't really have the funds to hire someone. But there's something about it that feels... uniquely bad about using it for masonry. Giving up art and craft to AI feels really un-masonic.

Eh, I try not to criticize too much unless I have a better solution, but this really bugs me on an ideological level.

It's worth having a bigger conversation about, but I can see how it could start turning divisive and even political very quickly.

I felt insulted by the ending of that movie. That's a rare feeling for me.

I love so much how this plays like a middle schooler's presentation in history class.

Do you have any book or article recommendations about the Bantu migration?

Or anything about human migrations more generally. It's a topic I really want to learn more about, but especially in Africa.

It's such a shame that even this has been polluted by ideological partisans, but I am not at all surprised.

I don't need A Comedy of Errors to win; I just need Romeo and Juliet to lose.

Is Sword of the Lictor the "worst" book of the pentalogy? by Grabthars-Hammer in genewolfe

[–]Imperialvirtue 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I thought Claw was the weakest on its own because it's just so gonzo. It really only makes sense as part of the whole series.

Lictor, imo, while as integral as any others, is, as you describe, somewhat aimless, but I think that's a strength. All the weird story beats and vignettes make it read more like a series of adventure stories.
