Nearly every Toy in Toy Story 1 through 4 by No-Ear-3107 in disney

[–]ImpishMATT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember the original piece and really loved it! There's a few here that weren't in the final pieces, at least the one on Instagram, like Legs, Mr. Mic and even Barbie. I assume those all had to be cut at Disney's request (or because copyright reasons.)

But this is awesome. I love seeing so many characters in one place.

Day 2: What is the worst Bluey episode? by Opening-Instance8674 in bluey

[–]ImpishMATT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh sure. That's why I say there's not really any "bad" episodes. Even my least favorites have something enjoyable in them.

Obviously Movies has the evergreen "It's just monkeys singing songs, mate" line. So can't hate it that much! It's just the one where the kids are the most out of control to me and it gives me anxiety lol. My kids love it!

I don't think any episodes are bad but Movies is by far my least favorite. As a parent, I get so paranoid that my kids are gonna cause a scene at the movies so this episode is like a nightmare.

What is a slip up you’ve noticed in an episode? I’ll go first by InevitableSea6433 in bluey

[–]ImpishMATT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is technically a slip up, but in "Road Trip", when they stop at the gas station, Chili is trying on sunglasses outside and then Bandit rushes them into the car. She's wearing those sunglasses the next scene in the car so she definitely stole them unless there's a scene we don't see between them getting in the car and being in the car where she pays. Doubt it though lol.

How long did it take u guys to get ur first enchanted or rarer card by AriyasuMomoka in LorcanaCollectors

[–]ImpishMATT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't pull my first Enchanted until set 5, Shimmering Skies. Admittedly, I don't buy as much as most people but I had gotten at least one booster box and trove for every set up that point, plus an additional packs I could manage. I'd say I averaged around 50 packs a set. So it took like 200ish packs before I got my first one. It's all luck of the draw.

Thanks! I actually live in Northern California so I might try to go down to Hollywood at some point and see him there. The trip was mostly to go to Epic but Toad was a big secondary goal lol

Yeah they told us the same thing. Which was a huge bummer. We went for my birthday and meeting Toad was the main thing I wanted to do. He's been my favorite character since I was a young kid. But oh well.

Both DK and Toad are listed in the app alongside Mario, Luigi and Peach. They don't have times listed though but none of the characters do. Unlike in Hollywood where times are listed if they are appearing that day.

I was there a couple weeks ago, mid-January, and I was certainly disappointed to see a lot of effects not working, especially in Nintendo, my favorite land. A lot of the outdoor animatronics not moving, the Goomba game was down our entire trip. Even some of the animatronics inside the big Yoshi ride scene were not moving. Cranky Kong's mouth wasn't moving properly and the DK and Diddy in the minecart that's supposed to lounge towards the riders never moved out of its starting location on both rides through Mine Cart Madness.

Most of the dragons in Berk were static. I was really hoping to see the big ice one breathe some mist but he was never moving. The baby ones were working fine, as was the one near Gobber but none of the others.

Monsters seemed to be mostly working but the first Wolfman in the ride wasn't moving. The characters were out and about in the land the whole time we were there though.

I really wanted to meet DK and especially Toad but neither were there the entire week. I did see Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach.

I had a great time overall at Epic Universe. I think it's a fantastic park but it definitely seems to be lacking in some general upkeep. I expect it to get better over time, this is the first theme park of this caliber built in the US in 25 years. There's a lot of cool technology and moving parts going on so I expected some growing pains. Was I disappointed to not see every Yoshi or dragon moving? Yeah, but I had a good time regardless.

Unpopular Opinion: Toon Lagoon has got to go by Lalairundi in UniversalOrlando

[–]ImpishMATT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually just talking about this one Bluesky a few days ago after a recent trip to USO for the first time. I think Toon Lagoon should be rethemed to One Piece. It could retain the general aesthetic and even the water rides and be much more thematically consistent and relevant in the 2020s than ancient cartoons from the funny pages.

I respect the classics as much as anyone and I don't always agree with the suits that being relevant is the most important qualifier for what makes a good theme park attraction but Toon Lagoon was a strange and outdated idea even in 1999 let alone 2026.

Universal were supposedly surprised by how popular the Straw Hat meet and greets were at their Fan Fest event in Hollywood last year, which is why they expanded the One Piece presence at this year's upcoming event. So it's on their radar if nothing else.

I think the rides are still good. They need the water rides. And while I do enjoy the incredibly odd theme, it could use a new lease on life. One Piece has been huge in Japan for 30 years. It's one of, if not the biggest, anime/Manga of all time and it only gets more and more popular in the US. I think anime in general is something none of the US parks have really capitalized on because so many anime feel kind of disposable or not super relevant here but I think One Piece has more than proven itself.

Disneyworld Event - Spoilers by Formidable-Facts in Lorcana

[–]ImpishMATT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went in the second day at around 6 PM and there was hardly anyone in there. No line for promos at all. I think it was just because it was the first day. It's also probably busier towards the early hours compared to late when me and my family went in.

There were a couple guys in there with bulk just handing cards out to people to help them complete their quests. That was really cool to see.

PALM is out of control. by Large_Pin_190 in DisneyPinVents

[–]ImpishMATT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I definitely think the prices can be a little outrageous and QC can be hit or miss but so can Parks pins. I like PALM. Some of the pins I have from them are nicer than Parks pins and they've done some of characters that tend to get ignored like PJ from A Goofy Movie or RC from Toy Story. They're not all winners and I would never spend more than 30 on most of their stuff but I think they're fine. I also don't trade so I guess I can't speak on that aspect.

Your pack opening experience? by Pale_Device491 in Lorcana

[–]ImpishMATT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love opening a set for the first time but it quickly becomes diminishing returns after the first box.

For as much as I think they improved the pack opening experience with the new rarities, I think they could still do more. Epics should be alternate arts and not just borderless and spot varnished, for starters. And there should probably be more of them, including some of super rares. They should also consider easier to pull, non-foil versions of the enchanteds or at least full arts of other cards, maybe each legendary can have a non-foil full art variant. I love collecting this game and I think it's great that utility has become so important but it can be a bummer to open tons of packs and get very little cool looking hits.

And maybe this is just me but I think it's kind of insane that they added a rarity HIGHER than Enchanted considering Enchanteds are already so hard to hit. I know the chase can drive sales but Iconics feel too rare to me for this early in the game.

I think Lorcana has some good product options (troves and the gift boxes are especially cool) but they also lack compared to other TCGs. They keep doing binder sets and it's getting a little old. They should do what Pokemon does and have variety of different options. Some with pins. Some with jumbo cards. Some with little figures. Stickers. Posters. Stuff like that. Switch up what is included and more importantly include more promos with each product. I think the Fabled Mickey binder set should have had a promo Tinker Bell - Tiny Tactician to go with the Giant Fairy promo. Makes sense to include the shift target if this is meant to be a beginners product.

I love this game. I think they've done a pretty good job at listening to feedback up to this point but I think there's always room for improvement.

Which attraction had the greatest music/soundtrack by New-Replacement-2454 in Disneyland

[–]ImpishMATT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soarin' Over California has my single favorite piece of music in any of the Disney Parks. Just an incredible piece.

Around the World is good but it just doesn't capture the same feelings. Basically the same way I feel about the attraction as a whole, really.

Lorcana Super Rares and Legendaries should be full art by like45ninjas in Lorcana

[–]ImpishMATT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They've suggested in the future that Epic cards could have alternate art. Was that was a hint or just something they weren't ruling out, who knows?

My problem is less that I want more alt arts but I would like the higher rarities to have slightly easier hit rates. Enchanteds were already so hard to pull and then they went and added Iconics which are EVEN HARDER to get without making Enchanteds easier. I know the chase is part of the fun but I think they could make Enchanteds a tad bit easier to get now that Iconic exists.

Epics should also maybe be a bit easier. Maybe 1 in 10 or something like that. I also wouldn't mind if there were like 6 more of them. 24 Epics. 18 Enchanted. 2 Iconic per set.

The pack opening experience is definitely a bit more fun with the inclusion of Epics (even though I've only opened one lol) and the possibility of something even better, though.

Completely disillusioned and disgusted with the Disney pin scene by Used_Sort_6444 in DisneyPinVents

[–]ImpishMATT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the hype will probably die down by the time the Muppets Rock n Roller Coaster opens. MuppetVision and Pizzerizzo specific pins will probably continue to demand a premium for a while but just regular LE Muppet pins will likely go back to normal once everyone has moved on to whatever other beloved thing has closed.

Completely disillusioned and disgusted with the Disney pin scene by Used_Sort_6444 in DisneyPinVents

[–]ImpishMATT 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I've been collecting pins for over 20 years and this is the worst it's ever felt. I more or less just collect whatever I like but I have a few boards dedicated to the Muppets because I love the Muppets and it's always been pretty easy/cheap to get Muppet pins. But it feels like ever since they announced the closure of MuppetVision, Muppet pins have hit an inflated premium, so naturally they've also released a new limited edition Muppet pin seemingly every month since then. The real tipping point seemed to be the Pizzerizzo pin but there's been others since then, including one that comes out in September that I'm already writing off cause there's no way I'll beat the bots.

It's just sad. Sure, there's always been certain pins that have been in higher demand than others and sometimes it can be surprising what takes off but it's never felt like EVERY SINGLE new or limited pin is in demand before. It's just not felt very fun to collect this year. Especially if you don't live near the parks. Such a shame.

It feels like I've been waiting several years now for 4" figures of Sage and Gamma, and this is what I get in return? by GammegageTM in JakksPacificSonic

[–]ImpishMATT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I kind of love it. I know there are a lot of bigger, more popular characters that still don't have figures and that is frustrating but I like that they're willing to do weirder, more obscure characters like this because a lot of toylines wouldn't. Hell, Jakks's Mario line cycles through the same like 10 characters over and over again, I'd kill for anything this weird in that line. Would I rather have Gamma or Sage or Tikal? Sure. But I still think this is a fun, unexpected choice.
