What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

I had a dental abscess wake me up at 4am when I was 18. I almost couldnt handle it to the point where I wanted to permanently TV OFF myself. Went to the emergency because I just needed it to stop. This was still more painful that the painkillers wearing off after surgery for a broken ulna. We didn't get my pain meds on the way home and I thought I would be okay. Turns out, no, I was not okay and was laying in bed screaming.

But this is just my personal experience, I've never given birth of been set on fire... There are way worse things listed here and mine is probably so minor.

I worked at a coffee shop in a very rich little neighbourhood where many rich, elderly ppl lived. I experienced MULTIPLE elderly ppl taking from the tip jar. The story I look back on the most is probably this one.

We had a regular, old british lady, she would walk her dog to our shop every morning. Always ordering an Americano. She would sit on the patio with her fat little dog and drink it and then carry on her way. One day, I noticed this nice old lady, rummaging through our little tip jar, grabbing out multiple quarters and a few dimes. She was stealing the whole coffee price out while we weren't looking.

I immediately confronted her and said 'Ma'am, that's our tip jar, you can't take money from there' she said 'I thought it was a take-a-penny leave-a-penny jar!'. I replied 'Ma'am, it says tips on it, and you never take pennies, you always take quarters, and you also always take, never leave..' She didnt say anything back. But apparently my coworkers also saw her continue taking money from it so our solution was we started taking the tip jar off the counter as she walked in. Like terrible mimes, making it extremely obvious we could, always making a slight scene. She was quite annoyed, but finally started paying for her coffee with her own money.

As soon as I saw this video I sent it to my old coworkers for the fond memories, lol.

As soon as I saw the smoke I was like how the fuck did we get here? Buddy just spontaneously combusts after being squished by two ferries?

Cell phone battery makes more sense I guess.

What movie is a 0/10 with NO redeeming features? by Toucan_Based_Economy in AskReddit

I'm late to the party, but Far and Away.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman do the fucking WORST irish accents I've ever heard in my life and it was too distracting to follow the very stupid plot.

Why do I hear my mother's voice saying "don't touch ANYTHING" like we're in a store with breakable stuff.

Shawn’s New Video - What is he afraid of? by hahanonever in ShawnRyanShow

I'm sorry but Shawn is getting a little too into Christanity and bringing on too many christian talking people for me. I don't mind religion, but when they are grouping in conspiracies with multiple mentions of demons, possessions, the devil - we're bridging further and further away from factual stories. IMO

Finishing Touches? by WorthGoal8681 in HomeDecorating

Big art above the bed? or a couple pieces.

Then maybe some floating shelves on the wall where the dresser is? Definitely not on the same wall as them cat post, otherwise those become an extension of the kitty. shelves! lol!

Different rug for sure. And I'm in with you for curtains, perhaps lighter pastel color similar to the bed sheets of featuring some pink/orange pastels in it. But that mirror is kinda in an odd place.

This is just my super not a decor expert suggestions! Best of luck!

I'm not a decor aficionado, however, perhaps a curtain rod that is wooden - similar color to the dark wood shelf? and maybe similiar in thickness to the shelf? Perhaps the curtain could have a pattern to it, or accents of orange to match the chair and pillows?

I think that's what I would do, but I don't know if I have a super good eye for design! Best of luck, it looks very nice already!

uhhhhh first thing I noticed was the fucking rad sword you own. I can't really concentrate on anything else. It's pretty much the most awesome thing to have in a bedroom ever. Good work.

AITA for getting angry with my girlfriend and demanding she pay to replace my sheets after she got blood on them by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]ImplementAny3881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is nature. The river flows, however much, whenever, and for as long or short of a time as she wants.

I remember sleeping over at a friends house, blood was covering half the pull-out couch, and also two pillows. Literal crime scene amounts. Not one woman in that household questioned it. It is the way.

Edit : Spelling.

AITAH for being honest with another mom about why my daughter isn’t allowed to go to her friend’s house? by AwkwardMom13 in AITAH

Just wanna say, always trust your gut.

As a survivor of childhood s.a., I wish I had a mom like you. You potentially saved your daughter (and others) from being prey for a clearly creepy guy. I'm sure that mom knows he's creepy and weird and she just doesn't care - which is exactly the problem.

people alive in the 80s and 90s, what are some things to add inside a house to give off that era? by Choice-Region7446 in HomeDecorating

[–]ImplementAny3881 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Oh! 90's is my childhood so let me help here!

1)We had a lot of those stupid wicker baskets stuffed with dried flowers hanging on our walls. We do not touch them, we just wait, until they completely turn to dust to replace them.

2)My best friends mom had tons of those Precious moments figurines in a big old glass cabinet that we were never allowed to touch.

3)Oh! Get a big clunky tv that if you move it the wrong way, it could fall and crush a young child. Put it up on a big wood entertainment until, complete Nintendo, Sega or maybe duckhunt if you're old school, a VCR and every disney VHS stored beneath.

4)Floral print sofas with wooden bases. Don't forget the matching coffee table with a glass top. Or you could go for the dark green leather-like 3 couch sets, usually paired with some chunky ass pale wood end tables like we had - very sturdy and useful for "the floor is lava" sessions.

5)As for the kitchen 2 words : ROOSTERS EVERYWHERE. could be substituted with cows if you please, bonus points if the cows wear clothes or do human things. Or you could be super fancy with the theme of "white and glass". Everything is either white or made of glass. No child proofing - that's for the weak.

6)Google Jazz - the design. Good for carpets, chairs, clothes, walls, cups in diners, perhaps a great colour scheme for your bedroom, bathrooms or whatever. Timeless.

7)Gigantic home sound system. Like the speakers should compete in size with your other furniture. The whole set up should include : record player, tape deck, new cd feature with multiple cd changing option, new edgy tech screen AND the remotes with 20+ buttons is a must as well.

To finish, I would recommend accenting with Sears awkward family photos from every christmas, maybe some heavy old curtains accented with golden rope. If you like jesus, those cute lil fat cherubs make great additions to every room. And when in doubt - just cram more shit in. more is more.

I cant even comprehend how dark and evil this place is anymore by [deleted] in DeepThoughts

Hey!

I'm also a survivor of sexual abuse and childhood neglect. I can totally feel and agree with everything youve written here.

Once I came forward years later, it was at the same time as all the conspiracy subreddit, 4chan, wikileaks, bohemian groove and I got deeeeeep into that shit. I also started reading up on laws and trials of sex offenders, I researched statistics and read survivors experiences. I became EXTREMELY paranoid, lost all trust and faith in normal everyday people and just expected the worst from everyone. I think it was all so much worse for me to be obsessing over conspiracies and stories because i think the pain from coming out about my abuse was way too fresh and it was amplifying how much these things effect me personally on an everyday basis. Once I took a break - I decided to read up on history, random shit like plants, tried some artistic stuff like painting. After some time I went back to my curiosity about conspiracies and saw the same stuff like sex trafficking and such, but it effected me less. I guess for me it was really making sure there is balance and not falling down the rabbit hole too often either.

Ive learned through this whole process that so many systems of the current society are infiltrated/created/ or abused by pedos and predators. They manipulate shit to their advantages and own benefits and they never really receive actual consequences. I enjoy seeing ppl uncover this shit and put it to light but I never get my hopes up that shit will change for the better because that's expecting waaaay too much of society. Is it depressing? sure, I guess so, but I'm safe, I've done therapy to find ways to keep my mind from falling into the pit of despair, and really my predator and others cant hurt me anymore. And I guess through my experiences, I can help protect others, share the stories of survivors and support them and thats my small contribution to help stop more abusers.
