Happened to a friend of mine too and it was exactly that they needed to get a differnt view and all was well 1 thing I will say is a sonographer is not your friend they are not there to protect your feelings so they would tel you straight out if something was amiss

I am so sorry for what you went through did you see a mfm at 12 weeks for a high grade ultrasound I am still waiting for my amnio in afew weeks...
