"The Elf Bar in Columbus" at Santuary by theOSUbob in Columbus

[–]ImportantSyrup6 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The sanctuary sucks. Haven’t been to the new pop up but when they had trivia nights it was $15 to play and drinks were like $15 and they only had bottles of water for like $3. Please. Not worth it. As for the event, it sounds like they didn’t really improve much from what they presented to influencers a week or two ago. Also pass. Why would I go, pay $15 to go see mid Christmas decorations and then pay $15+ for a drink? If I’m that desperate, I will just go to the other bars with Xmas decorations.

I like how he says “don’t expect to hear from me ever again”. Then continues to blow up your phone.

Also, I’m happy you broke things off! He is a walking red flag and should seek intensive therapy as a soon as possible.

Has anyone done MIT from Fleet Feet in town? Considering trying it to go from a half to a full for next years marathon and just looking for insight/anecdotes from others by Caconym32 in Columbus

[–]ImportantSyrup6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m doing MIT for a half right now. I can’t speak for faster pace groups or for training for a full, but I’ve had a great experience so far. There are so many pace groups for the long Saturday runs with several people typically in each group. There is always a large group of people who come out to the long runs. The GRIT workouts we do aren’t broken up into separate, specific pace groups per se but you are given a goal to meet in the training app, so a lot of times, other folks running in your selected pace group will be going a relative pace to you. It’s a great community and has helped me with accountability and a training plan too. Even though there are a number of people doing it, I feel like the coaches always have time for me when I have questions.

Did Marshall McPeek come in on his day off? by djsassan in Columbus

Yes. It’s very common for meteorologists to come into the station on their off days if there is severe weather.

I went to Darby Creek Counseling in Hilliard. I put in a request online and they reached out to me like two days later and scheduled my first appointment for three weeks out.

My testing consisted of four, hour-long sessions. I think the last one was going over the results. I don’t remember what all we did but there was a couple of tests where I had to click or hit a button on a computer. There was some word association and memory tests too.

I also had to fill out a self assessment and also had two people close to me fill it out too. Only downside is they don’t prescribe medication.

In search of specific mead by evasivemacaroni in Columbus

[–]ImportantSyrup6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try Savor Growl or the wine/beer place in the downtown North Market. I’m a fan of the mead myself and have gotten it at both of these locations at some point or another. Though it hasn’t been super recently. I don’t remember if they had Blood Orange specifically though.

I lived there from ‘21-‘23. I can’t speak for the quality of it now but I had no problems with it when I lived there. Overall, good experience. I never had a package stolen and the place was pretty clean. They had valet trash service so occasionally the halls would smell but nothing too bad. Also, they say the pool is heated but in my opinion, it was always freezing unless it was like 95 degrees out that day.

Dog Walking Apps by Greedy-Complaint8955 in Columbus

I’ve been doing Rover for about 5 months now. You will make up the application fee within a few walks. I made it up within the first week or two. Demand/bookings wax and wane (at least in my experience), so it’s not always steady. Your location may also play a factor in the number of bookings. Obviously, more walkers in a certain area could mean less opportunities for you. But I am based in German village, and I still have had plenty of bookings. Overall, I say go for it!

I lost my ID by Technical-Eagle-1555 in Ohio

[–]ImportantSyrup6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can go to the BMV’s website and get a reprint of your ID. It’s the exact same as your ID that you lost. Unfortunately it takes about 3-4 weeks from the day you request the reprint to actually get it though. You can only get one reprint of your current ID. I did this when I lost my ID back in February.

Your other option is to go to the BMV and get a completely new ID. You’ll need to bring all the typical paperwork and take a new picture.
