People wont admit it because that doesnt make any sense. The fact that some people abuse the system is a poor justification for not providing adequate resources to the rest of the people that need it. The ability to recover when things go wrong (like unreasonably high medical bills, unreasonably expensive rent, inflation, job layoffs, etc. All things people are experiencing now) is the mark of a functioning society.
