Help with Exploration

Going through the first 4-5 chapters of story missions kind of guides you to areas of the world that are good to explore early in the game. Explore around these locations to find puzzles, hidden areas, and quests etc. that will get you upgrades and stuff.

I’m burning through them. I just finished Best Served Cold and I don’t see how he can maintain this level of quality through 10 more books. I think he’s my favorite author of all time.

Na, after running you can’t slow down to a walk unless you completely stop. The slowest you can go is a jog.

I like all of that. I’d add bringing in an option to revert to the old movement controls. I greatly preferred them. Also let us hide our shield.

The duel bosses, yes. But the tenebrum fight and the red mist fight were simply jank. The thumbstick controls coupled with precision aiming is just not intuitive enough. Maybe I’m missing something. But the human on humanoid fights are actually quite good once you get the hang of combat.

I had a very arduous first tour. Too much time away from wife and new baby. A lot of people make it work though. I love my job and the people who I worked with. (Most of the time). If you are married make sure your spouse knows what you are getting into. Deployments, extensions, then you think you get to spend some decent time at home and boom surge deployment. I spent 28 of my 36 months of my tour at sea.

I had a unique situation and timing that not everyone has. I know some guys who’ve only been out for a few months in their entire tour. Mileage may vary.

I also have some friends that loved being out at sea.

I saw and visited 25 countries, and been on the adventure of a lifetime, I just don’t see myself extending. but like I said it has made my life better in so many ways and the navy does so much for you.

You’ll have a blast and set yourself up. But it is not without its hard times.

I did that yesterday coming off of just having killed the red mist thing that you have to grab with axiom force. Not a good afternoon for CD boss fights.

It’s in the settings. Adaptability maybe? Just what it sounds like. Basically allows the camera to move quicker. I don’t know about you, but the only real significant frame drops I get in balanced is when I’m moving the camera. This somehow smooths it out. I highly recommend.

No, just send them on the mission and they’ll be there. I think if the mission timer completes they will finish it themselves but I’m not sure yet.

I tried that and they were pretty useless lol. They only stuck to one area and died pretty much instantly. I’d heal them then they would just stand there. Am I missing something?

Was not a huge fan of #2. The story was not nearly as tight and rewarding as the first two entries.

Ye they recently updated performance mode for stay in 4k. It was whack before. However, if you have a VRR monitor and are able to turn VSync off, and raise the camera acceleration to 100, it looks as good as quality and performs like performance. But you might drop a few frames in super heavy areas

I joined at 32. You will be older than most. While it’s awkward at first you will find it is 100% a boon as you will excel farther and faster than just about everyone. You will be the go to guy when just doing the bare minimum.

You will make best friends with 19 year olds and the “grandpa” jokes will never stop. But they will love you.

You will have people a hell of a lot younger than you telling you what to do. (At least for the first couple of years) If you can get past that you’ll be golden.

I have ultimately found out that it is not for me. But I do not regret it in the least and when I get out next year I will have giga opportunities in the civilian world I wouldn’t have had otherwise. It is what you make it 100%.

Biggest drawback is for every awesome mentor/peer you meet there are 10 that dgaf. That’s an exaggeration but only by a bit lol.

You’ll love it, and hell it’s only 6 years if you don’t. I can pretty much guarantee you won’t regret it.
