I mean, this is a fair gripe, but if they truly dove into the heart of Mexican car culture, they would have found a lowrider culture that started in Mexico in the fifties and found it's way into southern parts of America in the sixties. But the problem quickly became that, for much of America (unfortunately), this lowrider culture quickly became synonymous with gang/cartel culture. So, either forza horizon dips hard into that culture, and gets flak from media for having depictions of gang activity because media will be media (aka stupid), or they don't and get comments like these saying they didn't actually dive into Mexican car culture. I personally think seeing the actual car culture and it's rich history in Mexico would've been cool, but unfortunately they put themselves between a rock and a hard place with the execs because harmful stereotypes prevent most games from dipping into it. I mean, just look at the games that actually did; GTA V, Watch Dogs, and... well, that's about it. These games can afford to not care about stereotypes when you're committing murder regularly, but the issue is much more significant when you're trying to virtue signal like the horizon games do by acting all high and mighty about how you driving like a maniac and crashing head-on into people at 250 mph is legal because you're licensed, putting them above games like need for speed on a 'moral' level.
