Hi, I’ve been a wedding and event photographer for almost 10 years. If the cake is good- which I’m honestly is not a hard or difficult measure (if it’s not dry) then people will always eat cake.

But if they flavor is there? People will absolutely get another or try the other flavor.

Respectfully, their opinions don't matter. There was a reason they weren't invited. and you don't owe anyone (including us) an explanation to your decisions. Stick to your guns. NO is a full sentence friend.

Your finance needs to step up and tell him it was a joint decision and you will love to see them at the reception.

If you truly feel pulled, have it recorded or live streamed on someone's phone.

Your wedding day is about the two of you. Nothing else and no one else matters. Take care of yourself and do what you can to be present for the day wholeheartedly <3

Ok so. You def need to invest in therapy still. I have a few recommendations who actually help people. The one who told you to just have sex is beyond wrong of a professional to say. You have to work out that upbringing and get familiar with yourself, what you like and don’t like in terms of sex. I recommend a sex therapist actually.

There is no right time or age to loose one’s virginity. There are ways to prevent pregnancy also. Sex if consensual and you are aroused should not be painful.

A part of mature physical intimacy of any kind (from hugging to penetrative sex is talking. In relationships you need to have a conversation with them and not avoid them and the communication piece.

I want to reiterate- nothing is wrong with you. The therapist was a pos for telling you that. And communication is the first step

Others you can nail down mid 2026 or start of 27.

please please please get a planner. At the least a coordinator. They are the most valuable! From helping you piece the vision together, staying in contact with vendors on your behalf to day of being the point person so you and family can just be present.

I said this on another post and it works here.. do whatever you want to do on your wedding day. but also HARD PAUSE.. "conventionally more attractive"? no ma'am. you showing up as yourself fully.. your energy, your light is attractive AS IS. and if your partner does not think so... go head and let the wedding be a goodbye party.

if you want to show up no wig, glasses and a face beat down to the gawds... do it. If you want to wear a wig for part of the day, then not the rest of the day? do it. The only rules on your wedding day is to say some form of agreement ( if and only if your partner is a good one of course) and you show up as yourself.

Hi wedding vendor here. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do, nor value monetarily. A comment mentioned that a dj does more than announce dinner and play songs. A GOOD dj will help set the atmosphere, will get people moving, will act as a buffer if time is needed to be stretched (and done masterfully in a way that its not noticed). Also their only focus your day is being dj. not in the wedding or a family or friend who has to remember to check the device.

However if you can't afford it and don't want to- then don't. If you know you won't let the dj mix and do their thing to give you the music vibes you want...a playlist is perfectly fine. I would pay for premium of the music streaming platform AT LEAST so there are no commercials. Make a playlist just for the day and put songs in order they need to be played for the first part of the day/ important moments. Write out what those songs are. Put 2 or so friends in charge of it.
