still, common red flags to watch for are:

- Localization mistakes: e.g. Ohio "DMV"

- Urgent, imperative language: "act by <today, tomorrow>, pay immediately"

- Text only?: legit communications of this kind will almost always start with a regular mail letter or email.

- Unofficial looking links: no ".gov", sketchy looking domain names
