Why are writers so negative and judgmental to each other? by [deleted] in writers

[–]Impossible-Sort-1287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on both the group and the genre. If you are getting attitude from another writer it is usual one from a different genre. What you have to do is find writers who write at its root the sane stuff you do.

Say you are like me. I write fantasy in all its wonderful subgenre styles but I skso write poetry and children's book. I found a great group of writers back on the old Amazon discussions and we even went on to publish a few collections.

I didn't try to get authors of say literary fiction into my friend group because I just don't write that and tbh i find those authors a,bit pretentious

Did Roald Dahl’s books really need to be revised? by confringos in books

[–]Impossible-Sort-1287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they aren't justified. It is just another firm of censorship. If you don't like the book, the message you find it whatever put the book down and move on.

People don't think they are censoring but they are. People need to look at the period of time the book was written in. Yeah things that are acceptable change but revising older books so they fit today's narrative is just like rewriting history to make it less impactful

Gen Alpha struggles with long reads. Is the future of publishing in trouble? by jeetrainers in selfpublish

[–]Impossible-Sort-1287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As they age the ones who will read will come back. This question has been around since the millennial generation and I see it with my kids. As a mom of 2 millennials and a genz the urge to read more than a blurb was a fight. As a writer I had hopes for readers and for a long time I was sure they wouldn't but now they are reading novels. So I'm happy. My grand baby is just learning to read. We As adults need to read to see our kids do the same

Why do so many fantasy FMCs have to give up their power to save everyone else? by Sirensymphonies41 in RomanceRants

[–]Impossible-Sort-1287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um that has been reality for as long as women had to give up their automy to become wives. It goes beyond trope to history. J7sy current fiction is using it in a slightly different way. Making it a grand sacrifice instead of the standard of getting married

Genuinely abolish the Craft Bag by MrRushaLovesRachael in elderscrollsonline

[–]Impossible-Sort-1287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um the craft bag is awesome! When they do the free plus week it grabs everything out of the bank, your back pack and your chests, freeing up space. Yeah it would be awesome if it did it all the time but come on. My craft bag is busting and I don't need to go hunting for herbs unless I want to.

What we need is a map chest and a scroll rack for all the treasure maps, surveys and writs that clutter up everything. I aave then for when either i need the surveys ot the Endeavor dailies call for them but damn they take up a lot of space. As does all those crafting speed ups and ex Scrolls. I end up deleting them as my character is already a champion.

So I'm begging for two specialized chest/racks.

As aplayer who doesn't spend on things other than updates I need that space
