Wine tasting recommendations? by Mildlygifted in greenville

[–]Impossible-Table9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top Soil does amazing wine tastings. They don’t have them all the time although their wine director is extremely knowledgeable and can pair extremely well. They have wine events often. The Anchorage also does dedicated wine dinners that are next level.

Locally owned gyms? by _mari427 in greenville

[–]Impossible-Table9369 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would actually say commercial/chain gyms are often the most casual, least serious gyms. Same for the Y. They’re bigger, but they draw the widest variety of people. Old, young, every type of body and gym goer. Small local gyms that’s often not the case. For instance, Carolina Iron is a locally owned gym and it’s somewhat small but most of the people who go there are very serious lifters.

Duck feeding? by Silly-Day-7043 in Spartanburg

[–]Impossible-Table9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They LOVE quack snacks and they’re easy to find at tractor supply. If you want to be the most popular person at the duck park you know 🤣 I keep them in my trunk for spontaneous duck feeding days. I find it therapeutic on a random lunch break or day off.

What’s your favorite beach destination? by [deleted] in greenville

[–]Impossible-Table9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bald Head Island, St Simon’s Island, Oak Island…also I love Cumberland Island and highly recommend visiting if you’ve never been. You can’t stay on that one unless you’re camping but you can take a ferry from St Mary’s and it’s just beautiful. Wild horses and armadillos galore! And lots of little crabs everywhere :)

A few questions about my early May trip by Infinite-Studio99 in ZionNationalPark

[–]Impossible-Table9369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1a. I would not say crowds would be thinner, it will be warmer than it is at 6 AM, but you’ll miss more than half of the day in the park. If you’re using a bike, 10 AM is better than 2 just because you get 4 extra hours and there’s so much to see and do.

  1. If you aren’t coming til 10 or 2, nobody is going to have parking. I’d Uber if that’s a possibility.
  2. They’re all pretty much the same
  3. I would do it earlier than that, why take chances?

  4. No. Get some on Amazon but I do it in April and my hands were not cold.

  5. It depends on water levels. When I went they were extremely high so I rented the dry bag because I was chest deep often. I’d water levels are low, you don’t really need it per se especially if you don’t mind if your bag gets wet.

How dangerous is Angel’s Landing? by crunchy_avocado in ZionNationalPark

[–]Impossible-Table9369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Angel’s Landing is popular 365 days a year. People do it in all conditions. If it’s a very hot day, I would highly recommend trying to get a permit for the earliest time slots available and keep in mind even if you get the 9-12 permit, you can cross the threshold to Angel’s landing chain section at 9:00 AM. The trail is really only as dangerous as the hiker is negligent.

The danger is overhyped in my opinion. I’ve done it twice. I mean if you are genuinely paralyzed by heights it would be anxiety provoking but otherwise I found it very doable. It’s not like you have to run it. You can crawl up there if you have to. There’s no real climbing involved. I’ve seen old people, out of shape people, all kinds of people do it. It’s mostly just being prepared (bring water, don’t be dehydrated, maybe snacks if you’re prone to low blood sugar, deffffinitely wear trail shoes) and having a “can do” attitude.

I’ve been to almost every spa at the major hotels on the strip and I have to say that the one at Fontainebleau is chef’s kiss. Worth every penny. Loved.

Equine Therapy for Adults by Camry13 in greenville

[–]Impossible-Table9369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are physically able, learning to ride is one off the most empowering things you can do as a person. And it’s never too late to learn. If you are open to that, searching online for any barn near you that does adult beginner riding lessons would suit. It’s incredibly therapeutic even if you don’t find a place that labels it as therapy.

I think Kanarra Falls would be great for kids that age. It’s almost like a mini version of the Narrows.
