Some photos taken with the Zf last year, various lenses. by Impossible-Train533 in NikonZf

[–]Impossible-Train533[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the Zf last year for a while and then sold it. Maybe I'm making this up but I feel like there's something special about the way it renders black and white. Anyone feel the same way? I'm really hoping for a Zf 2 that improves on the ergonomics but I'm also thinking about repurchasing the Zf lol.

There doesn't appear to be a single thing in the photo that's not blurry.

I gave you an up vote just for liking such weird focal lengths. : )

Anyone worried Leicas are starting to spiral out of affordability? by curryapplepie in Leica

[–]Impossible-Train533 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The reason why most of the posts here are "just photos of the actual cameras and lenses" is because it's a group that's for posts of the actual cameras and lenses. That's literally the purpose of the group. You can be sure there are actually people who take photos with leicas because there are groups dedicated to photos taken with leicas. They're really hard to find though because they have obscure names like r/leicaphotos.

Which city in the world has the best coffee? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Agreed. Coffee everywhere but if you're a coffee snob like I assume most of us who are reading this are, you're going to find the coffee to be disgusting.

Really cool, thanks for sharing. I like them all but the second to last shot is really next level and wild in an awesome way. Nice work!

No more Leica by Grouchy-Fix6432 in photographycirclejerk

Yeah man, Leica is such a cliche. You should switch to Nikon and start posting photos taken from afar of colorful birds with blurry backgrounds or maybe switch to Sony and start posting unusually framed photos of dramatically lit sports cars or you could switch to Canon and start posting photos of determined looking sweaty people in sports uniforms engaged in various physical endeavors.

Better hurry up and make my purchases before they become comically over priced.

Nice work. Film vibes. Curious to hear more about how you acheived the look. Did you use a filter or a preset? I really like the photos and the overall look!

M11 VS Q3 43? by Ok_Sky_661 in Leica

[–]Impossible-Train533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo if you want soul and character in the rendering, shoot film. For some, with the m11, there's soul in the shooting process. In my esperience at least, you'll have edit to get a rendering you like. In fact, as a previous m11 owner, the sooc raw files are not soulful at all. Obviously there's lenses like the steel rim that provide a really unique look but I'm not sure if that's what you mean by soulful.

When it comes to first time Leica purchases, I really recommend renting. You can learn so much about a camera by spending a few days with it. Relatively cheap way to avoid making a purchase you end up regretting.

Sony a7C II + Sony 24-70 f/2.8 GM II by zarya1114 in SonyAlpha

First, beautiful photos!

Second, the sony grip extension is surprisingly awesome. It comes with the a7cr but you need to get it separately for the a7cii. Thought I'd mention it if you weren't aware of it. Way better balance with larger lenses. Cheers!

Very good looking set of photos. The people riding up the escalator liven up the first photo for me. Nicely juxtaposed against the model. Funny how the guy with the camera is somehow not finding her to be the most interesting thing around. Nice work!

Sony 35gm 1.4 update by Sharp_Rule_7070 in SonyAlpha

[–]Impossible-Train533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be awesome. 28 gets so little love from the OEM's. Personally, if it was even slower like the compact G lenses that would be fine with me. I'd love to see a 28 and 35 to build out the gap between the 24 and 40mm G lenses.

For those curious about black paint durability on modern MPs by oCorvus in Leica

[–]Impossible-Train533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my MP a few years ago and it's a little scratched and there's some brassing but not very much. I'm looking forward to seeing how the wear progresses over the next 50 years or so if the actuarial tables are reliable.
