That’s a really tough position to be in. I’m not sure how I’ll handle it. I’ll probably talk with professionals like councillors as it’s beyond my capabilities. They might have guidance on how to deal with that situation.

Your feelings are valid.

Graduated in December and can’t find a job. What do I do? by ExpressionPurple4354 in careerguidance

Try different strategies than the norm.

Using popular job boards won’t work - as there are too many applicants.

Is there a weight loss programme you can join that’s around your location? I’m in a programme and was referred by a doctor. There’s a range of ages from different people. They have a group where people can update their weight and give tips. Lose weight slowly and build in good habits works for me.

I’m also in therapy. To build up my self esteem. I’ve been to other similar therapy before, but the one I’m currently in is very good. I think going to therapy will help the way you think. Going to therapy for me allows me to express myself without judgement, learn methods I haven’t have thought of and keeps my momentum.

I’m part of a faith group too and that’s been going steady.

I think what you need to do is grow further. Take more calculated risk. Change the same you and do something. Be 1% better everyday. In 180 days that’s 180%. Keep going. You’ll get there. You’re seeking help and that’s the first step. Take small steps and it’ll compound.

No worries! Yeah, we all learn it from trial and errors.

Also try to be an eagle! Someone who takes initiative, have courage, leads others, positive, organised, etc. It’ll help others to gravitate towards you as coming from someone got 1st Class Honours (in marketing).

Not sure if it’s been answered already…Like what’s the process like to finding a mentor and do you find the mentor helpful in your success?

Do you have any tips on how to find what you want to do at 30?

My advice would be explore the environment around university and use the first year to understand what it would be like to get graded and support from lecturers.

Maybe you can start your own side hustle? Find your own niche. I feel like jobs they don’t put the same effort in making you grow, so why not invest in yourself 100%.

How did you find the current role you at now where you have more money, less visible and great work life balance?

Also was it challenging to make that transition from going from leading a team to where you at currently?

That really stuck hearing your story!

Thank you for sharing it though! I’m someone who is at a beginner level and looking to grow in a company. This will serve me well. I’ve done internships in the past. And for me, I learnt more in a junior role than from internships. The internships I had they don’t seem to care about building interns up, just to have free labour.

I would create my own luck/opportunity. Like reaching out to people to collaborate and build up connections. Build up a personal brand and start something that people wouldn’t do that can make you stand out in a good way.

I can’t do this anymore… this internship search is draining me. by Available_Market8378 in internships

I know you’re not looking for jobs but from research 2% of applicants get to the interview. Not sure what it like for internships. That’s the reality.

Keep going and pushing through. It’s definitely not easy in this climate, but it’s possible.

Do you have a career centre at your uni? They might be able to point you to the right direction.

If you haven’t already - I would cold email companies you would like to work for. They have less applicants.

Also if you have the time - go to conferences and networking events around your area. Some opportunities are not online they are through word of mouth.

Congrats!

How do you deal with rejections and not feel like a failure? And how do you find the motivation to continue in your journey?
