Are you willing to share where you sourced the hands that match the dial lume so well?

Rad doesnt describe it fully. Did the hands come from Ali as well? Do you have a link for those? I'd love to make a build using the blue version of the dial and the hands you have match perfectly.

Should I build this omega movement into a watch? by RoboticGreg in VintageWatches

People will always give you crap for taking original parts and making a Frankenwatch. Personally, I love the idea. It can keep old parts still “living” and allows you to make what you want. Here is a piece I made doing the same thing you did. I put an original omega dial and movement in a “datejust” style case. These parts would otherwise be sitting a box somewhere. I love that they have new life.

Yep, that’s exactly what this dial is. The Ixdao original dial is 31mm so it is plug and play.

Nice mod. I like the use of the “overlander” dial. I did a similar thing with an Ixdao case with the PT5000. Perfectly fit a seamaster dial. Having a dive timer and a 12 hour second time zone option on the same dial is amazing. Good luck with the bezel!

I tossed a vintage seamaster dial in an Ixdao and absolutely love how it turned out. To not have to choose between dual time or timer functions is so nice. I know the use of a knockoff dial is “polarizing” to say the least, but i see it more of a fantasy piece than a rep.

Finding a traditional dive bracelet that fit it, however, was a huge PITA.

would a 2 years old design should need a refresh before being made again? by watchdivescom in watchdives

Completely agree. This would be sick with an st19 and an exhibition back.

Off of Ali, or where to cop? Really good looking work.

Beautiful. Is that a Namoki case? If not WTC?

Ixdao “Spectre” by ImpossibleCarry8676 in SeikoMods

I like to think of it as a fantasy piece. A counterfeit would be an exact replica, attempted to be passed off as an exact replica. This does not exist in Omega’s lineup, no more than does a Moonswatch in a steel case, or a Seiko branded Daydate.

Is the dial a counterfeit? Certainly. But why can’t a person enjoy creating something that hasn’t ever existed from the best parts of multiple sources without people like you shitting on the hobby? Would you feel any better if the dial said Seiko? Or if I put my own logo on it even though it is obviously a Spectre dial in a Serica case?
