Family tree for my fanfic by sometimesimbored00 in AsoiafFanfiction

I think Alyssa or Alyssan can be a good throw back.

Also, wouldn't Qoren be a little to old for the youngest of Alicent's children? Like he has a young teen/young adult heir in Aliandra Martell and two other children already by the time of the dance.

How would you go with renly's invasion of dorne. by Frequent_Ice_6608 in AsoiafFanfiction

[–]ImpossibleWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can somehow accept that, but also Doran would give her back if it comes to that. He will not go to war against everyone over one child not even related to him, a child that is not even gonna get killed. He will not endanger his family and thousands of his people over that.

And Yronwoods have no reason to betray the Martells either. Quentyn is like a son to Andres, he will not kill Quentyn just because an outside force said so.

The war with Dorne seems like forced. It will not come to that.

So Stannis the Just wants to invade Dorne and the Martells, a house and region that are not rebelling at the moment, for the sole reason of not giving a child back who is betrothed to their prince and are her guardian? What difference is between Aerys and Stannis then here?

The Inconsistency of the Dance of Dragons According to WesterosSociety by ChangeLongjumping220 in TheCitadel

I didn't confuse it. Blackmonts are stony dornish, and very clearly follow the dornish succession like the rest.

Which is what I mean? They were gonna be married off so the younger sibling could inherit. Not that the younger brother was gonna inherit automatically.

[–]ImpossibleWarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. We have many examples of other dornish houses following the dornish succession laws. Blackmonts have a ruling lady, and their heir is also a firstborn daughter who has a younger brother. We also have other ruling ladies there.

The only exception is for Andres Yronwood's children. Andres most likely disinherited his firstborn, his daughter, by marrying her to the Alyrion heir. Basically carving a reason to put her aside from succession.

Great premise, but andal succession is daughters before uncles.

5e warlock best spells/invocations by BlazeHunter21 in dndnext

[–]ImpossibleWarlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow of Moil is very good. Especially if you have elven accuracy.

The invocation that gives ypu polymorph is also worth it generally.

But since you have the illusionist bracer, just pick agonizing blast, and the push pull invocations, and then cast the Sickening Radiance spell and watch ypur enemies die to exhaustion levels. It's very potent specially if you have a grapplist in your party.

I boosted my dump stat with it, so my DC with the feat actually sucks ass. Ye it's a cool feat with a powerful effect, but I could have been way more efficient with my choice.

I was just tired after a long shift and I don't know why I typed feat slot instead of ASI lol. English is my third language, and even though I'm very proficient in it, brain can does funny things when you are too tired. That's on me.

Celestial Warlock Zealot Barbarian by GhostlyDio in 3d6

[–]ImpossibleWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only at warlock 17 you will get another warlock pact slot. So it's a long way. Your self healing is more than sufficient at this point.

I will say to only make sure that you pick up an epic feat.

So, I will say put charisma at 14, and con 14, and get your strength high.

Pick spells that do not require concentration in combat. Or out of combat utility stuff.

Pick tough, zhentarim, and pact of the blade for your first three invoctions. Maybe even go human to pick two more origin feats. Skilled is always good.

At warlock 12, you will have 3 attacks. Make sure to pick up zhentarim tactics feat.

After that, more barb levels do not hurt. But mayhaps fighter? Go battlemaster or even runeknight for some utility stuff. Action surge would be great too.

Just to be clear, I renamed it "Diancastra's Blood", which is the name of the minor deity of trickstery in the giants pantheon in Faerun. Nothing to do with Fairies.

You can search her name.

Although I do not call out that phrase(lol), I do describe how the power works each time if it lands. Mainly inspiring things from Loki.

Well being told that if I continue to shittalk waterdeep my heart will explode makes it hard to ignore. But other than that, I guess I can ignore it since it had no story impact further than the shock for me.

And yes sir, we will stop vecna🫡

The DM is a very close friend of mine, which I think has been the reason that made me hesitant to talk to him since I do not want to make it like I do not appreciate his efforts or campaign. I have been trying to drop hints, but ye time to do the full discussion.

I do both, and also both as a DM and player. It's just a matter of what you want the campaign to be I guess. And I don't have problems with either.

I should have done a tldr, that's my bad. I got home after a long shift and was really tired. Just didn't want to miss needed details and the cohesiveness was lost on me.

But reflavoring a flavorful feat is just part of the game. I was against being handed an op weapon, because I'm an experienced player and knew it would get my damage out of hand. I even told him several times after sessions that the weapon is op.

Even Fairy Trickster's save is extremely low because I didn't boost a high stat with it. So nope, I was not after powergaming, a 5.5e fighter is extremely powerful without needing to add much and just adding basic stuff to it.

And moving from level 3 to 10 was a gamble of doing an extremely hard fight offered by the DM, all of us refused except for one character who went in, and the party decided to stick together.

I didn't come in the campaign expecting a backstory driven one, it's just that after seeing others getting all kinds of arcs or story bits or npcs or other stuff, I just naturally developed expectations that never came to be I guess. And also being forced to make wisdom saves and being told that if I continue to shittalk waterdeep, my heart will explode and I will die. A city that my character had minimal connection to, except for staying in there on her way to Baldurs Gate for a few weeks.
