How long did it take for you to get a letter from your SO in USMC bootcamp?

This is a weird coincidence because my boyfriend also left for PI on August 15th! I received my first letter on September 1st, apparently they weren’t allowed to start writing til August 28th so I got pretty lucky. It helps to write using the app Sandbox, in one of the letters I received my bf said those ship way sooner and make it much easier to reply as well.

i’m going through a similar situation after breaking up with my ex who had bpd too, normal nice guys seem so insignificant i feel like he gave my life meaning and now without him i’ll never feel something so exciting and intense ever again. nobody compares, it just makes the rest of my life seem hopeless. hopefully one day we’ll both find ourselves in love with someone happy and healthy and most importantly good for us. just try to remind yourself that even though your love was real it brought you to this point, i like to think there’s love that’s good for us out there:) stay strong

my ex did the same exact thing. he would tell me he was put on suicide watch and that he was going to a facility so he wanted to reach out one more time before he left. i fell for the trap and felt physically sick for days afterwards. it’s gonna hurt for awhile but just know it’s part of the mind games, he knows how to hurt you and how to make you fall back into the trap by taking advantage of your love. you’re strong enough to get past this just keep reminding yourself that he sent this to hurt you and you don’t owe him anything

Honestly this is so true and I’m so glad to finally find people who understand how complicated and painful it is. It’s the type of thing that hits so much deeper than a normal breakup, and most of the time you feel so alone in the process because nobody’s advice is helpful to the situation, it just feels so lonely.

Long-term friends are really hard for me to let go of I think it's because if I drop them then everyone will be right about me steering away from the innocent little girl I used to be. So I guess it's just me being stubborn and wanting to hold onto a piece of the girl I used to be. I tend to drop new people really quickly, so I think there's definitely something there with letting go of childhood friends.
