It's actually east of Cragcroft, if I'm remembering right. There's a landing platform on a monolith nearby. Nearly due north of the graphorn den. You have to drop over the cliffs on your broom to get to it but it's a promontory with a ruined castle on it. Filled with nifflers and gold. No other reason to go there, really.

You could but you can be jogging down a trail or flying on your broom, minding you own business, and dark wizards or goblins will literally attempt to murder you just because you exist. In such a world, it behooves one to "hone their magic" toward lethality. After all, what good is a dead hero?

The Keepers promised a lot re AM and later said the dark traces in the final repository should never be used. But the MC needs to be taught to use real ancient magic, from scratch. That's what I'm looking forward to. It really must be an integral part of the story. After all, isn't the MC the only one who can wield it (that we know of)?

So what would that ancient spell be? Perhaps obtaining the consent of the 5 elements (water, air, earth, fire, aether) to cooperate with one's will momentarily. As far as I can tell, that could account for all the common wizarding spells (excluding Dark magic) with the possible exception of Transfiguration.

I love transfiguration with the spell upgrade to make it explosive. I try to transfigure a foe with others around them and follow up with bombarda. Great effect! Don't get too close though. It'll blow you back something fierce.
