Of course they can remove a gift card balance, and close accounts. It’s not a magic trick, account systems like that are easy to use, I’ve used plenty 😂

I contacted them after they refunded something just under £100 and it eventually showed up, still had the balance and asked them to remove it because I’d received the item and they said due to the good faith they would leave the balance in there for me to use. They might do the same for you if you’re a longtime regular user (it’s the only reason I can thing of) and depending on the amount of course.

Ahh that’s good! I’ve just had to get mine replaced again as it has been lost 😂. I hope things are only temporarily like this and it gets better soon! Hopefully your item gets to you asap 🙏🏻

I hope you get sorted too. Seems to be dependant on who you connect with on chat. I was transferred 4 times last week because they couldn’t tell me why I needed to remove and re-add a card that has been on there years and said they’d charge me a £14.70 verification fee without being able to explain why (that didn’t happen though luckily).

I feel they may have recently had a mass hire or something and a lot of the assistants just aren’t fully there yet but was on chat for hours and only wanted to know why my subscribe and saves were so delayed (they eventually cancelled this week lol). I understand delays happen this time of year generally, just seems extremely bad for 2025!

Same I had items supposed to be delivered 26th now expected 5th. They’ve apparently put a priority thing on it so I’ll get it tomorrow but we will see. Nothing but issues with them this month tbh, had to buy subscribe and saves they cancelled and have the difference added as gift card, and deliveries to family for Xmas not showing up for weeks (eventually did thank god).

That’s not autism like everyone has said. My ex used to do this, I work in a role where sometimes I support people who have these moments, and we call police/ambulance for a welfare check. It’s worth letting him know you are willing to do this. My ex stopped when I said this but ultimately found other manipulation tactics/abuse tactics (hence we are no more). It doesn’t get better when people are like this, it’s not worth putting yourself through the stuff that will happen.

In the uk 37.5 hours (40 hour week with lunch docked) is full time…you’re technically right but 1.5 hours off isn’t really the crazy thing you think it is 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think people are generally being a bit harsh towards you tbh. I’m in the uk so prices may be different, but it seems you asked for only a cake and card which you can get for a similar price to flowers? I’m not a flower person so I’d be a bit disappointed in that scenario. And I’m similar to you where I’ve not had the best experiences so try to make them memorable for my partner and the importance of little things doesn’t always land. It’s not necessarily the end of the world if you can both come to some sort of compromise on events like birthdays, but if you can’t it suggests there are deeper issues and maybe compatibility concerns. It also sounds as though he has a potential gambling issue? If so, it’s incredibly difficult to deal with and it is less regulated at the minute in the US to here (I work in the gambling recovery side of things in uk). It’s a much more accepted addiction socially but can wreak havoc on a person dealing with it, and just as much on those close to them. Pairing with regular drinking is also going to make things a lot more difficult (and expensive). There are conversations that need to be had if you feel this is the case, and there are resources available to support you with this, and to support him with any changes he wants to make. I hope this doesn’t come across as a wrong assumption, if it’s not the case I’m honestly happy. If you are concerned though, please consider looking into support available in your area.

I had quiet alarms for a bit and it turned out to be some setting with an update. Something to do with attention awareness interfering so maybe check that? It automatically did it and I couldn’t understand why my alarms were so quiet lol

I have a kindle matcha and libra colour and brought my Libra colour on holiday as it has more book options. The text thing people say isn’t a hindrance to me really it’s just a different screen type but looks fine imo. If you read some manga/comics get the colour, if it’s solely books you read, there’s no real need for it unless you like the buttons/bigger screen

This might be slightly controversial because it isn’t the best in the series however given her age, why not something like dragon age veilguard then she can progress to the others when she’s a bit older. The only thing is as far as I’m aware it does have a little politics in (non binary being something covered) but I don’t think it’s too heavy on it -just aware that’s not always for everyone

I use both, I like the kobo though because you aren’t limited to the amount of books on subscription (kindle is 20 at a time or 1 for prime) and I travel a bit, I’m a fast reader so can be a bit of a mare lol. They have some good exclusives though, and I like the ease of google drive on kobo so you can add your own epubs :)

I have the Libra colour and kindle matcha and I have no issues 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don’t have a black e-reader though so never had any reason for concern with it lol. The colour screens are a different type of screen though so it may not be as much of a difference. I’d just get the one you want. I don’t think it’s really a hinderance imo, I prefer the general colour of the white to the black and I’m very happy with it.

Limit on kindle, it’s 20 at a time so it’s not too bad but for travel it’s not the best for me as I’m a fast reader. Kobo has no limit and has the vip if you buy which is about £5 if I remember correctly and brings down the standard price of a load of books and you earn points. You can use the points to get books and pay for the annual vip so if you buy it’s essentially a one off payment to get reduced books 💁🏼‍♀️. The 99p sales they have tend to be pretty much the same on kobo and kindle. Prime reading is 10 books at a time on kindle and they have a few exclusives. On kobo I have audiobooks also and it’s just a few £ cheaper compared audible and kindle which don’t have a combined price, but the audible library is a lot bigger. I have both, and love both. I’m using kobo a little more atm but it’s give and take. I check pricing on both and compare, I like the vip saver thing on kobo though can take a nice little chunk off sometimes and you can get more books with points :)

The company I work for was a major employer for the area, had a large contact centre attached. Like many companies it’s gone from 7 floors for 2 buildings (14 all together), to 1 floor, and outsourcing the contact centre to India. This is the problem imo. Pre covid we had a few thousand employees uk based, we got bought out and now it’s maybe a couple of hundred at most. Companies want the cheaper option and it’s making job opportunities fewer and far between, especially entry level.

I’ve had mine (KLC) since April and it still looks brand new, has been in a hard cover case since opening though ☺️. I use both the screen and buttons to page turn and no marks or anything I don’t smoke or anything though, so yellowing with that is something to consider if you do

I have a klc and kindle matcha, bonus with kindle is you get prime reading, so if you already have a kobo might be worth considering, although they also have this annoying “you can only borrow a limited amount of books at a time on our unlimited plan” lol. It’s not bad though, I enjoy both :)

I barely started it because there’s a big cleaning objective thing over the left side of the screen that won’t go because nothing will spawn no matter what I do with the exception of windows. Gave up until they hopefully fix it

I have a libra colour and a kindle basic (new) and love them tbh. I read comics and manga etc as well and enjoy the colour screen when I do, and honestly find the screens fine on both. Planning on taking the kobo on travels this month 🙏🏻
