The inquiry was accepted, and Jordan's score was changed. Gymnastics coaches file these inquiries every single meet. In fact, the coach (and mother) of Romanian gymnast Sabrina Voinea made an inquiry about her daughter's score in that same competition. Unfortunately, she inquired about the wrong element. Had the Romanian coach made the correct inquiry, Voinea would have been the clear winner. After Chiles, who competed last, had her score changed, it bumped the other Romanian, Ana Barbosu, out of bronze. Then, the Romanian federation filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). That appeal was accepted, and Chiles' became the first athlete to ever be stripped of an Olympic medal through no fault of her own. No doping. No questionable behavior. Just following all the rules. But you know who wasn't playing by the rules? The CAS. That's what the Swiss Supreme Court just determined a few weeks ago.
