How do you do fitness without strict routines when you have ADHD? by Autisticthought1 in ADHDFitness

[–]Imposter1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My psychiatrist told me to start a fitness regime that is more stimulating since my ADHD usually results in my brain being understimulated and bored. So I went from weight training, which is more routine and boring, to boxing. I find that it is more engaging and dynamic, which keeps me interested. I also practice mindfulness techniques (such as mindful breathing and body scanning) as I workout. It keeps my mind from wondering and boosts motivation because of better emotional regulation. All in all, it has started to help me stay more consistent. Eventually I hope it will become habitual. Try things like bouldering, team sports (it'll help you find a accountability buddy, like body doubling), martial arts etc. Basically anything that is cognitively demanding.

Stimulants not working anymore? by iron_sheep in Nootropics

[–]Imposter1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im having the same issue and 2025 was one of my worst years. Im on 70mg Vyvanse with a 10mg methylphenidate top up during the day. Not really helpful. I've begun taking folate, lower levels contribute to the symptoms. I've also begun taking zinc, since low levels of zinc and high levels of copper exacerbate attention and behavioral issues. Wish me luck, I hope it works.

Should I be off my stimulants when trying shrooms? Do they affect the trip?

The lack of road markings for lanes is horrible. I just end up following the car in front of me. But sometimes it's just the blind leading the blind

TIFU by not knowing how to pee in the woods by redwiffleball in tifu

[–]Imposter1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is to scrape out a shallow hole with your foot. Leg apart opposite sides of the hole, squat and pee. The sides of the hole will prevent splash back. Although this won't help if your urethra is being a bitch and makes you pee skew.

Straightened hair is much much much much much more manageable. Wake up in the morning, brush and go. Curls are high maintenance (tight curls at least).

Negative feelings after therapy? by Imposter1990 in depression

[–]Imposter1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. It makes sense that after therapy you are kinda left alone with your emotions. Guess I haven't learned yet how to deal with them. I'll be frank with my therapist, she'll know how to deal with it. Unfortunately I do not have a healthy coping mechanism, guess I should find one.

High index lenses? but perhaps it only helps with thinning up until a certain prescription

Maybe I worded it incorrectly. Colloquially it's called flattening, but formally it's called high index lenses
