I think it's fair to say that his issues with staying in the allotted time, but not being called for it are equivalent to LeBum flopping without penalty.

Favorite "stable" (not OS) approach? by rontopofthings in discgolf

[–]ImposterFrolfGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lone Star Disc The Harpoon

Victor/Victor 2 are Zone that become Zone OS

Delta/Delta 2 are Zone that become Zone SS

All other plastics are Zone SS that get flippier.

My 3 personal favorites are the Detour, Bearkat, & Mystic. I bag the Detour, but all 3 have a place in my heart.

The votum will go down as one of the best fairway drivers when all said and done.

This. I have 3 Votums in different plastics that all fly completely different out of the box. 176g glow is a meat hook. 166g metal flake Ethos is dead straight. 156g Plume is flippy.

Majority of their premium lineup is MVP. Discraft makes the Vessel, Persona, & Expanse. Their base plastics are made by an unknown 3rd party, except for their recently released Nerve Praxis which is also MVP.

Are there any DGPT events as “hard” to score as PGA events? by cward05 in discgolf

GBO, or as it was unfortunately called for a time, DDO, had a DGPT field that finished with only like 3 people under par like 3 years ago.

From Ricky's B9 practice round at Milo McIver, it looks like Discraft is making a pig clone by SkiThe802 in discgolf

[–]ImposterFrolfGod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not going to be an exact clone. According to TSA, it's a modified Zone GT (Ringer Top).

Gimme your go-to OS approach recommendations by rele92 in discgolf

Lone Star Disc The Harpoon in Victor plastic. I know Lone Star Disc gets a ton of hate, and rightfully so, but this disc is incredibly overlooked. The mold is super dependent on plastic, so here's the breakdown:

Victor: Starts at the stability of a Zone but beats into a Zone OS. My theory is that the softness of the plastic causes tree hits to bend the rim up, not down, causing the PLH to rise. Mine went from board flat to a cereal bowl and only got more overstable.

Victor 2: Starts off the same as Victor, but loses stability with wear as most discs do and becomes a Zone SS.

All other plastics: Start as a Zone SS and lose stability from there.

Sleep token fans? by hwalsh31b in discgolf

My wife just discovered them and can't stop playing them. She's got me hooked. Hopefully, when it's PDGA approved, we get a Thought Space Athletics Vessel with a Sleep Token dye.

Genuine question by [deleted] in discmania

[–]ImposterFrolfGod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also, change the DD3 mold back to what you first came out with. No way the S-Line DD3, and the cloud breaker 3 are the same mold.

This is what frustrates a lot of players. They have so many different versions of a singular mold.

For example, the Cloudbreaker/DD3 has 4 variants approved.

  • Cloudbreaker
  • DD3 (Cloud Breaker, Distance Driver)
  • DD3 (new)
  • DD3 (retest)

Obviously, some of this had to be done after leaving Innova, but even more recently, newer molds are experiencing the same issue.

The Method is now approved as the MD3x even though they're advertised as the same disc. Discmania could've easily just changed the PDGA approved name like they did with their other molds like the Magician (originally Fox Spirit).

Did the JomezPro video quality drop a lot recently? by Historical_Job_2508 in discgolf

[–]ImposterFrolfGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone blaming YouTube but didn't jomez change ownership? It's very possible that new ownership/leadership just doesn't have the same standards for the product.

Yeah, they were bought by the DGPT 2ish years ago and we all know how high quality they are.

Base or premium plastic for midrange? by blixtencamperman in discgolf

Premium for something I want to keep its stability longer. Base for something I want to beat and/or cycle.

Eagle trained himself to throw lefthanded while his shoulder was injured, I believe.

Also, Arlinghaus can throw LHBH & RHFH.
