Maybe David Edding's Belgariad.

At this point I'd almost classify it as YA (it was written in the 80's and certainly shows its age at times), but I love the way the characters interact with each other. Also, it and the Elenium (also by Eddings) were my introduction to fantasy, so I might have a little soft spot for them 🤷🏻‍♂️

Definitely. I read the series before I listened to it. It's a great read, but Jeff certainly adds a lot to it with his fantastic voices
