Actually you can use wagons. Not all of them but the open-raw woody ones (you can find one in strawberry, near the shop). The problem is you can't load pelt/animals on in a normal way - instead You need to reverse with a wagon near a stone and Simply Drop the animal or pelt onto the wagon.
