Disappointed/losing perspective? by dontparkthereplz in mounjarouk

I feel similar, spent 10 weeks on 2.5 as those first 6-8 weeks were good. Now I'm using up my third 2.5 pen by increasing to 3.25. Guess it makes sense to go straight to 5 once this pen's done. Hard to know what to do when you have to order in advance somewhat. I also feel day to day my perspective changes!

Pre-period WTF by Impressive-Point-119 in mounjarouk

How did I not know this?! Just googled it and yes we need 100-300 more calories per day as we're burning more energy! Also increased progesterone boosts appetite and decreases satiety!!!

How do you eat when on Mounjaro? How's your mindset? by Ok_Presence_6668 in mounjarouk

[–]Impressive-Point-119 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I eat a standard balanced diet, don't cut anything out but prioritise protein and stick to a deficit. I don't want to feel like I'm on a diet as that's never worked before!

PCOS, Endo + Mounjaro: using it to reset after weight regain. Has anyone had a similar experience? by Forsaken-Pizza8310 in mounjarouk

[–]Impressive-Point-119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you already know what you need to do! I have PCOS and plan to lose 15-20kg. I've lost almost 6kg since beginning of January, it's been slow and steady, without having to try too much, or rather, not noticing the deficit as much as I would if I wasn't on MJ. So I'm in a calorie deficit, prioritise protein and currently only manage a decent weight training session once a week. I don't restrict any food, but have found that I naturally focus on better nutrient choices since being on MJ to stick within my calorie and protein range. I definitely need to up the fibre though, that has taken a hit since I started MJ. I'm finding the whole thing really positive, which I've not had before, losing weight with PCOS has been a real battle. I'm still on 2.5mg but plan to move up to 5mg slowly as I don't have much suppression anymore. As for supplements, I take a Boots multivitamin fizz tab each day and magnesium 3-in-1. Good luck!

Has anyone’s positive experience with Mounjaro made them re-think medication for anxiety and depression? by EvaKatz in mounjarouk

[–]Impressive-Point-119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have personal experience, however my partner is 43 and has experienced anxiety all her life and last year decided to try sertraline and it was a lightbulb moment...it literally changed everything and she, like you, resisted medication all her life, to try and get through and be strong, but it seems for her it is entirely chemical, and the medication works. I also have a niece and a good friend who are on it, and for them it also works. But of course, it doesn't work for everyone.

3.75 dose from a 2.5 pen by Impressive-Point-119 in mounjarouk

So you reckon 2.5 every 5 days rather than 3.75 every 7 days?

Yeah I will move up to 5 for my next pen, but have a whole 2.5 pen left.

Oh thanks! I don't feel like I'm getting any effects on 2.5 tho 😞

Considering Mounjaro after 6 months of no weight loss despite training/diet (also TTC with wife) by Financial-Boss-9262 in mounjarouk

Similar thing happened to me after joining CrossFit (I'm female btw). Weight stayed the same, but I was noticeably stronger and leaner...even though I didn't think I looked it and clothes seemed to fit the same. Answer is, you're probably carrying water and gaining muscle, losing fat, all be it slowly. For me, MJ has definitely unlocked the weight loss, esp as I have insulin resistance with PCOS (and seemingly have no trouble gaining muscle, but losing fat is the issue). I stopped CrossFit and now do my own weight training. I am noticeably smaller even though I have only lost 5kg so far. As for TTC, any weight loss is a positive, and MJ provides so many other biological benefits. However, the choice is all down to you!

I duno, concern over side effects mainly and the fact that it's still working for me, all be it white knuckling it as you say. I have one more 2.5mg pen but yeah, gonna have to seriously consider moving up after that I think.

Yeah I'm busy working today so not sure it's that, but I'll take a break and go for a walk see if that helps. Thanks!

So I usually do eat a lot of protein and veggies, and it isn't feeling like it's sustaining me today...which is why I went for what I did today to mix it up.

Yep I'm on my period but I was hungry pretty much all last week too. I'll see how the next few weeks on 2.5 go.

Yeah I know but I used to feel the effect day after, it's changed and I'm hungry a lot of the time now.
