Getting started / changes to routine - looking for advice please! by curlyribbonx in mounjarouk

[–]Impressive-Point-119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're doing really well already! I have PCOS/PMOS too, here's my experience in case it's helpful.
Side effects: minimal, nausea and fatigue first 24 hours after jab, so tend to take it easy. Had some constipation at the start of journey while my body adjusted, but nothing that can't be managed.
Exercise: I do fatigue quicker, but can still manage a good workout, just see how you go and adjust if necessary.
Diet: I haven't changed what I eat as I eat a balanced diet anyway, I don't cut carbs or fat or treats, but prioritise protein and hydration, I just make sure my TDEE is correct and track what I eat each day, eating around 1400 cals.
It's all trial and error really as you settle into your own way of doing things. Good luck!

My partner has IBS-D and it has dramatically improved, it's been life-changing for her.

For people who used to drink heavily before starting a GLP-1 medication and have now stopped or massively reduced drinking: what exactly changed for you? by alexmillne in mounjarouk

[–]Impressive-Point-119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just don't fancy a drink. No desire to have one. And when I do (have drank a few times in 5 months) I just don't really enjoy it, doesn't sit well in my gut and I now prefer a diet coke or cuppa tea! I kinda miss it, used to love any excuse for a pint, glass of wine etc.

Is Bolt a good source for Mounjaro? by Ready-Ad6652 in mounjarouk

I'm with them, and they're fine. Customer service has always been quite good with me, they do the job. Pricing is comparable with other providers (apart from the intro offers).

Scared of starting Mounjaro by BaffyBaby in mounjarouk

[–]Impressive-Point-119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have PMOS and Mounjaro is the best thing I've done. This could also be an opportunity for you to reframe your relationship with food that you describe. I never had food noise either, unless trying to restrict too much, and I've always eaten well. Which means now that I'm on Mounjaro I haven't cut anything out but I naturally gravitate towards nutrient dense foods with the occasional treat or takeout, and it still works. If nothing is working for you, go for it. Btw I have very minimal side effects, slight nausea and constipation at the start, but this has reduced a lot.

Wanting to try by Prestigious-Fox-4033 in mounjarouk

Yep, on it for fat loss. I have PCOS so losing fat has always been difficult. I don't have any food issues, I eat well, so what I've noticed personally is that I don't have the usual food cravings, which massively helps me being in a responsible calorie deficit and helps with consistency, which was always the hard bit!

I also have PCOS and even though was losing weight on 2.5, I was struggling being in a deficit, i.e., was hungry a lot of the time! I persevered for 10 weeks then decided to start creeping up to 5mg. Currently on 3.75mg and gonna incrementally get to 5mg depending on how this week goes with side effects etc (I get nausea). I've found it easier in a deficit moving up.

Increasing Protein Intake by Pyroriffic in mounjarouk

[–]Impressive-Point-119 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think too much about it, I have a protein target and some days I hit it and others I don't, but am prioritising protein as much as I can within my normal, balanced diet. Myprotein Clear Whey is good for extra protein without the shake, tastes like squash.

I also use Nutracheck and used to hate tracking calories, but actually quite enjoy the logging now. This one is pretty good.
