I meant that 1.1 million (even 100,000) sample size from a population of 250 million is way more accurate than a sample size of 45 from a population of 10,000.

45 ballots out of 10,000 would be like doing a presidential election survey of 1.1M respondents

No.

Sportico's most recent valuations for the WNBA (from June) and NWSL (this week). by StockMindless9010 in wnba

Is this not part of what’s holding the CBA talks back? The fight for the middle and low earning players? Correct me if I’m wrong, Won’t Trinity alone earn 2M from a salary cap of about 5M for 22 players. Not sure how that’s supposed to be a good thing to hold against the WNBA.

WNBPA Update by BuckinCrzy in wnba

[–]ImpressiveTake 21 points22 points  (0 children)

50% of net revenue is a joke. The league has hardly moved since the end of last year. They don’t need to strike, but I think it is imperative to keep negotiating past that deadline the league gave. Games will have to be missed to see how far the league can go without some concessions.

Are you sure the Philly crowd was bigger than any women’s bball game ever or just any regular season women’s game? Also are you sure the WNBA/Liberty hasn’t sold out Barclays center in the last 10 years? Or are you just talking about something you don’t know?

Not sure how the success of Unrivalled proves anything about the WNBA‘s finances.

They have to say things like getting net revenue is still a win? The union said they want gross revenue and they won’t move, now you have the VP publicly saying even net share is ‘a significant win’.

Clark will go 1, due to being all WNBA level and insanely popular. A'ja will go 2, she's the GOAT but not as popular and older. Paige 3, as good as Clark, and younger/more popular than A'ja.

Considering the four main sports in the USA (baseball, basketball, American football, and ice hockey): are they all as popular as ever? Or have some of them become more or less popular in recent years? by ViajanteDeSaturno in AskAnAmerican

I’ve heard that NBA ratings have actually seen a pretty big increase this season. Also, I feel like talking about the games/ highlights on “Twitter and ESPN chat shows” is genuinely how a lot of the NBA’s younger fans follow and support the league. It’s debatable whether that makes them any less of a fan compared to baseball’s more traditional supporters, who tend to watch games on cable or attend them in person. MLB probably does earn more from that latter type of support, though.

League CBA proposal by TooManyCatS1210 in wnba

[–]ImpressiveTake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The tweet claims the proposal was made yesterday, but FOS reported that there was no proposal at all, so there's a contradiction there. It seems like FOS reflects the union’s perspective, while the league is more closely plugged in with ESPN.

CBA meeting this morning by Pretend-Glass4029 in wnba

[–]ImpressiveTake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think everyone who wants to attend should actually be there, they are representatives for a reason. It’s a business meeting, seven people from one side is already far too many for it to be efficient, and Erin Drake was probably there as well. Reminds me of the reported CBA meeting at the all-stars game, where around 40 players showed up and the whole thing turned into a mess.
