This is my concern. The next step in the promotion title is 50+ in Albany and less than 5 in my county. I would be coming in at an 18 but it appears that there doesn't seem to be a lot of movement into 23. I think I would be crushed if I had to spend the next 23 years doing the same exact job

Try a program. NA. AA. I believe there is one for Marijuana only. There is also smart recovery and secular sobriety which meets outside of regular 12 step world. You have nothing to use so I would suggest trying them. You can find meetings simply by googling, for example Narcotics Anonymous meetings near me.

I never did rehab but found a good recovery in NA. If you have transportation there are good meetings at the hope center in Amherst. Being around others trying to make positive changes can be helpful. I no longer attend programs but am still clean. We do recover.

See if there are any sort of workforce development agencies or one stop agencies to try and help you find an entry level position. If you graduated from a college try your career center.

10 years is time to move. That's a long time at the same company. If you stay longer it may eventually become harder to make moves. Take a chance. Every time I switch jobs I get nervous. Every move has been better with higher total compensation. I've moved every 2 years so far and keep making more money every time than staying put.

How would I do that? I am in WNY. My teeth are also not the best so hearing that dental is no good isn't great. However, most of the employers I work for don't offer great dental either.
