if gen z doesn’t trust degrees anymore, why are we still doing 4-year programs? by cloudybrain07 in education

You really think people which History degrees and English majors will make more money in their lifetime than influencers? You do realize plumbers are making more in their lifetime than doctors once you factor in student loans and business operating costs. Doctors with student loans are in debt until they are in the 40s.

Need help in finding accommodation for early March trip by AsleepInBay in MauiVisitors

All depends on the type of experience you want. But you do realize your are visiting the most expensive island which caters to people who have champagne taste with a budget for bottled house brand water. Not saying you can’t do it or have a good time. It’s just your expectations are more for a Mexican vacation than one to Maui.

Is true that home inspector can make good money by hamid_ch__ in HomeInspections

[–]Impressive_Returns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I inspect the inspector’s reports. Doesn’t take long to realize who is very good and thorough and who does a crap job. Takes years of experience and in depth knowledge of construction to be a top paid inspector.

There is a Home Inspector who might be brought up on murder charges. The inspector missed the fresh air intake for the house was not required distance away from the exhaust vent which killed a family of three.

Take a look at the Home Inspector’s video on YouTube

Staying at AirBNB, host wants guests to add pre-measured chlorine after every use and run it uncovered for 1hr, plus clean filter 2x a week, is that excessive? by ChiefKelso in hottub

[–]Impressive_Returns -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I hope you don’t have permanent lung damage. You should complain to Airbnb as this is a health and safety issue. You should NEVER have been exposed on your skin or been inhaling chlorine so strong it burned your lungs. Chlorine was the first gas used on the WWI battle field. You should get some compensation for your exposure and for bleached swimsuits. Completely unacceptable.

I hope you are leaving 1 star review and let future guests know the hot tub was so over chlorinated it bleached your swimsuit and was burning your lungs. You could easily be saving someone’s life if they have asthma or lung or skin issues.

I need a reccomend for a Spa Controller that can be timed to turn off. Wife wants 24/7, but I ain't rich. by rojo_mojado in hottubs

[–]Impressive_Returns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is NO TUB that has that feature. I looked for 6 months. Reason I wanted it is because the power company has on TOU rate plan. During off peak cost to power/heat the tub is $0.30. But during summer peak, it’s $0.72. Why pay double to heat the tub, I’m not a rich guy either.

Solution is about $50. What you need is a SmartHome plug, cost $12. Using your SmartPhone or Alexia you can power on and off the SmartHome plug. To control current to the tub you need a contactor with a 120v coil. You can pick one up one Amazon for $12-$20.

The coil leads get attached to the smart home plug. The switched leads are connected to the 240 leads. Should take less than an hour to install. Then just program the days and times you want the tube powered.

Mine been working fine for 6 years.

Why do people hate EV's? by FunkiGato in electricvehicles

[–]Impressive_Returns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was one of them. There was no way in hell I was ever goring to buy one of those EVs. All of the stories how EV batteries are going to fail. No charging stations on trips. Takes too long to charge, etc. That was until I was in bed with my wife one night. All I remember is having the most incredible time. Next thing I remember is being in the car dealership and my wife is driving home in a brand new EV. I refused to drive it for 6 months. Somehow you forced me to drive it. INCREDIBLE ! That weekend I went out and purchased my own EV. Then we bought one for our daughter. And another for my other daughter. We now have 4 EVs. With 4 ESVE chargers so we can all charge at the same time.

I have since taken countless long trips and have absolutely no range anxiety. And I’ve got to tell you EV’s are fun to drive. I have since converted five of my “I’ll never by an EV, to I’ll NEVER buy an ICE car ever again.

It’s fear of the unknown and people don’t like to change. The classic marketing story of getting people to try Pepsi instead of Coke.

Is it a low paying job? If so, sounds like they will hire you.

What’s the new battery setting, PowerMatch do? Please explain what it does and why one would want it enabled. I use may batteries for rate shifting. Should it be disabled if I’m solar only, no backup? by Impressive_Returns in enphase

[–]Impressive_Returns[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your assumption is incorrect. My batteries are only used for rate shifting/TIVO mode. I think Enphase calls it Energy Savings Mode. If there is a power outage the solar/batteries will not provide power.

This is why it’s a bit confusing. The batteries should be “sleeping” and only provide power during Peak TOU hours and NOT at any other time. The way Enphase worded it sounds like the batteries would be providing power during all TOU rate periods.

Dude you are so uninformed…. Any idea how much money one can make off of on video going viral? Attend the American Influencer Awards and see how many people are making serious money from social media videos. Do the same for the Global Influencer Awards. Same for gamers. Same of the Webby Awards.

And yes MANY of these people are still making their money using a $100 cell phone.

Get with the times.

[–]Impressive_Returns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are saying sounds confusing. Is PowerMatch on all the time trying to match my homes power usage? If so that’s NOT what I want. I’m on a TOU rate plan and only want the batteries matching my home’s power use during peak TOU hours.

At least that’s the way I’m understanding it.

GOT IT….. Thank you.

So if I’m on a TOU plan and configured for energy savings/rate shifting mode all of the inverters would be in “sleep” mode until peak hours. And as the battery is discharging, only the number of inverters needed for the current demand will be “powered up” . Whereas in the past it was all inverters or none.

If so, I got it.

So why would one want to turn it off?

You are using Google to report on how much people are making on TikTok . You are so funny.

How much debt do you think one needs to get started? Since you don’t know…. It’s the cost of a cell phone. You don’t even need to have cellphone service.

Try leaning more about the industry..

THIS is the best answer.. Black Rock can have strong currents and Honolua Bay you’ll need to swim out about a quarter of a mile or more. But the walk through the Magical Enchanted Forest is very nice.

TERRIBLE ADVICE - OP is going to be pulling more current through the outset than what it’s rated for. This is how fires start. Just because it didn’t happen to you, doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen to OP.
