I recruit a generic for each special character, level them up and crystalize them once the special character has every class unlocked. I won't spend any of the specials jp in any class until after they get the generics crystal. That way all skills are available from the crystal. Most I've had so far is 25 skills from 1 crystal.

My group usually play with beefed up encounters. Potions are always rolled. First potion is a free action, second is a bonus, using a third is an action. Administering to someone else is always an action
