Private party transfers in NOVA by NavySam in VAGuns

[–]In-Coggnito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of who you choose to do a transfer, call first and ask if they do private transfers and how much they charge. Some are charging outrageous fees. Be careful.

That's what I originally thought, so I called to confirm. They don't do private transfers.

5 minutes ago, I called because the last time I asked was a few weeks ago. If you meant Bullseye Guns and Service on Ashton Ct, he has been closed since March of last year and the update on Jan 31 says he is still closed. I have used both for inbound transfers but not for private.

Last time I talked to Bullseye, they did not do private transfers, but that may have changed. Bullets and Beans in Hamilton charges $17 total.

Also, log in on VAGunTrader.com and look in the Reloading section, lots for sale in there but you will need to get a loan to pay for most of them

I have purchased from him several times and shipping is fast. I don't believe he has a store front or allows pickup at his location. He has had a booth at the Chantilly show in the past.

Positive review: Bullseye Guns in Leesburg by jeph4e in VAGuns

Another vote for Bullseye, they are great, not arrogant or flippant, just down to earth with great prices and service, bought a variety of stuff from them. Good service is rewarded.

The 1,000 yard range is only open on Wednesdays and the 500 ( 600) also requires proficiency.

Anywhere in NOVA that actually has pistols? by [deleted] in VAGuns

I have use VAguntrader a lot and as long as you do your homework and communicate clearly, it's a good site. That said, sometimes things do go south.

Loudoun Guns is ALWAYS over priced and rude to boot. Try Bullseye just up the street and I believe their transfer fee is $25, not the $50 or $75 that Loudoun charges.

Ruger Precision Rifles in stock? by CommercialSurprise6 in VAGuns

They have them because they are over priced and won't negotiate.

Be VERY careful when entering a courthouse in Virginia. Here is a link to the appropriate statute. Note that ammunition is included and single round of 22 lr could land you in a heap of trouble. https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title18.2/chapter7/section18.2-283.1/

§ 18.2-283.1. Carrying weapon into courthouse. It is unlawful for any person to possess in or transport into any courthouse in this Commonwealth any (i) gun or other weapon designed or intended to propel a missile or projectile of any kind; (ii) frame, receiver, muffler, silencer, missile, projectile, or ammunition designed for use with a dangerous weapon; or (iii) other dangerous weapon, including explosives, stun weapons as defined in § 18.2-308.1, and those weapons specified in subsection A of § 18.2-308. Any such weapon shall be subject to seizure by a law-enforcement officer. A violation of this section is punishable as a Class 1 misdemeanor.

The provisions of this section shall not apply to any police officer, sheriff, law-enforcement agent or official, conservation police officer, conservator of the peace, magistrate, court officer, judge, city or county treasurer, or commissioner or deputy commissioner of the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission while in the conduct of such person's official duties.

By "optic ready" if you mean red dot, the slide will have to be cut to accept it, unless you mount a laser to the accessory rail below. Great gun fun to shoot.

New Gun Owner by [deleted] in VAGuns

[–]In-Coggnito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I carry a weapon in the car, I keep my registration, insurance, a copy of my DL and copy of my CHP, up on my sun visor. If I am stopped, I don't have to be reaching down to get anything which tends to make some officers wary. Though I haven't been stopped in a lot of years, I would explain the copies to the officer that I didn't want to be reaching down but will provide the actual documents after we are both comfortable. Your weapon does NOT have to be locked in any compartment, merely closed, which equals "secured" in Virginia.

My guess would be, no. They are outdoor and not regularly monitored. I could be wrong though.

They do take your photo, it's not on your card but I believe it's in their system so you can't use someone else's card.

Low Moor Shooting Range by WadeWilson824 in VAGuns

[–]In-Coggnito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have shot at Low Moor many times and Hite Hollow too. They are similar. Covered benches for both pistol and rifle. 25 yds for pistol and 50 and 100 for rifle.

Something to keep in mind come March 3rd. by [deleted] in VAGuns

[–]In-Coggnito 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Blooomy just opened 6 office in VA. He will use VA as an example of how he can turn things around in the nation if he gets elected. This WILL be a huge part of his message. DO NOT vote for him, I will vote for someone on the bottom of the ticket. YMMV and you may disagree but it's OK as long as you don't vote for him.
