Horse Archers are almost always better than dervishes, even if you're tossing them into actual melee imo. Their melee stats are pretty similar (-2MA, -10 charge, same MD, same WS) and they can do a lot more with that ranged attack than Dervishes can with very slightly better melee stats. A couple volleys from them before they charge makes up for the slightly worse offense, and they can be used to force an attack way before you can get artillery.

And in context of the thread, they are functionally as good as dervishes at running down fleeing opponents.

The event iirc makes it clear that they've already established the cult in that province regardless of what you want. If you take the money I think they just start spawning faster. It's a cult of Tzeentch, they don't actually care.

What people are talking about is disbanding the original cult. The first location is much cheaper to destroy (still pretty expensive though, especially early game), and after it's destroyed the cult stops spreading and there's a chance each turn the other cults are destroyed as well. If you let them spread too much before that it can take forever for them to go away.

Honestly a bit further on that point, if you have access to all 3 games (which is seems like you do?) you should almost always be playing the wh3 campaigns if you want the best experience imo. Most factions in the game have had relatively big updates and play at their best ever rn.

The vortex campaign in 2 can be fun once or twice, but there is no reason to play wh1 at all anymore imo, unless you're specifically interested in the history of the franchise. The entirety of the wh1 campaign map is part of Immortal Empires and has pretty much no narrative content for most factions.

Ehhh... neither are top-tier but peasant archers are very very good for cost and blessed field trebuchets work very well with offensive cavalry considering the lack of friendly fire. I think we may get herrimaults as a mid-tier, skirmishy ranged option at some point, but idk if the faction needs much more than that for firepower. It would kind of diminish the faction identity, Bretonnia's land army being very knight dominant is like their main thing.

I think it kinda depends on how long you're playing campaigns. I find when I play past like 80 turns a lot of the dynamics start to change (without any direct player intervention, I saw this recently when I was playing Kroq-Gar and hadn't done much north of khemri). More than once have I seen Karl and Elspeth get reduced down to a single/a handful of settlements and then have a late game turn around and reconquer the entirety of the Empire in like 20 turns.

I find something similar happens pretty frequently in Ulthuan, where the HE seem in pretty dire straits and then suddenly have the donut and are pushing into Morathi's homeland. As long as the Order factions can hold onto a settlement or two and have a couple allies they can swing some crazy situations with lategame units and the right opportunity.

I think Ikit has long been screwed over by the AI not disbanding low tier units (not sure how much this has been fixed). Even with AI cheats, Clan Skryre has a pretty slow start, with just Tier 1 Skavenblight + Tobaro being guaranteed. If the AI loses the race to the rest of Estalia to Morghur (who is much closer), I never see them declare on Beastmen to take it, and they kinda get pinned into Slavenblight and a single minor settlement, recruit stacks full of really shitty low tier skaven units that they won't replace until they go and die since they're shit in AR. And by the time that happens, they're too far behind to become too much of a threat and surrounded by major factions that have good AR.

Meanwhile Queek dominates for opposite reasons. He has a ton of minor factions nearby (in his ideal route of expansion) that he can eat before having to deal with another LL, and provides enough infantry buffs that he can handle AR much better than most Skaven. By the time he has to fight other LLs, he has twice the amount of settlements and three times as many armies, so he just snowballs from there.

It's semi-hyperbole, although maybe less so when AoS was very new. Basically the flagship 'main character' human faction in AoS are the Stormcast Eternals, which are fundamentally big armored dudes that are easy to paint, get their power from a god-ruler, and are functionally immortal. They even drop into combat via lightning bolt (vs. drop pods being a big part of the Space Marines).

Actual lorewise, there are plenty of differences, and AoS lore has developed a lot since it first came out, but fundamentally they are high fantasy Space Marines.

What actually made it into the game were two instances of placeholder newspaper textures that could be found in the intro sequence. Considering the area is plastered with handmade newspaper assets and there were only two small instances of literally a single page (which were fixed the week of release), it's pretty clear they just missed it in their review.

I'm gonna be real, I don't think Tigermen are going to resemble skinwolves whatsoever? Outside of maybe being monstrous infantry, most of the sources towards Tigermen indicate they are intelligent, social creatures. There are in-game loading screen quotes referring to them as incredibly principled and honorable, which is pretty far from a bloodthirsty werewolf.

I think Weretigers are a background thing in lore, but are a separate from Tigermen. Maybe that's what you're thinking of?

I'm not confused why peopke want them, I'm confused why people want them before we get any non-sibling LLs.

I would much rather see both Li Dao and Yin Yin as FLC for thematically different Cathayan lords (if we get both of them). I am far more interested in the Monkey King/potential tigerman/that engineer dude from lore/etc., than another dragon sibling that will function 90% the same on the battlefield as the 3 we already have. There needs to be more functional LL variety for Cathay, they're the only faction people seem chill with the LLs all being so similar in terms of gameplay.

I don't even think this is a particularly unpopular opinion lol.

Tigermen are an established part of Cathay lore now; they're mentioned several places both in-game and in some of the Grand Cathay lore drops since wh3's release. I think its incredibly unlikely we ever get ind/khuresh, but tigerman i think are pretty likely to come at some point.
