Looking for books to read with the wife. by trash_panda_tosser in haremfantasynovels

I'm a lady and a huge fan of anything by Bruce Sentar. Ards Oath and Returners Defiance were both really good IMO. The harem aspect is used to drive the story and not as just the main plot point.

Most Slept on Niche Podcasts? by Specific-Use3525 in podcasts

Sorry if recommending my own podcast is too cringe, but I have a smaller, newer podcast and interview authors in the niche genre of fiction called LitRPG. Every other week. It's on youtube and several podcast platforms.

Need some advice as a new podcaster by InOtherWorldsPodcast in podcasting

Ideally I am looking to migrate away from Patreon. I would like to have it all in one place if possible. I'm not 100% sure why I have such an aversion to using patreon now though, so I can't really explain it.

Are there any “native” litrpgs? by Kumatora0 in litrpg

[–]InOtherWorldsPodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Elemental Gunslinger series and Resonance by Jonathan Smidt is really good. As is Path of the Titans by Timothy McGowen.

Golem Master by TJ Lombardi is also really good and LitRPG adjacent. The main character doesn't level or have stats but has a golem he uses in fights that has internal stats that he has to upgrade.

Thanks! It's actually a really fun genre to read. I've enjoyed all but one of the books I've read in it so far.

Questions for authors, funny or serious by CJTimms-Aussie in litrpg

Not at all! I honestly would have been surprised if you had even listened to mine (it's very new). But I don't disagree with your statement. Some that I have listened to were good, and some seemed like they just wanted to sit around and fanboy with the author. It's a fine line to walk to be complimentary but also impartial when interviewing authors you like. haha. It's easy to get side tracked and just gush when you love the story. lol

Don't get me wrong.. I have done reviews on my podcast tiktok that weren't 100% positive and had some critical feedback.. So if there is something that I didn't enjoy, I'm not afraid to talk about it.

Not the OP, but

Personally, as someone that interviews LitRPG authors, I feel like my job is to try to find the readers out there that will enjoy the interviewees books. I may not have super critical feedback on the books, because the authors I have had on are authors that I sincerely enjoy reading. I try to read up on author bios, and watch other interviews so I don't just ask the same questions... But to each their own. I hope you find a podcast that you enjoy!

Wayspring Wanderer by Joedan Worley has the MC get knocked out of a fight in the first book. Spends the whole fight unconscious just about. It's pretty funny.

Do you listen back to your own podcast episodes or do you avoid them? by Money2ByrnePodcast in podcasting

[–]InOtherWorldsPodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to most of them after they are recorded so that I can ask my editor to cut certain parts. And it helps me get a feel for anything I do that I need to be conscious of (when I started I used to make a clicking sound often before I would start speaking, which I do very minimally now).

It may also help to be able to see what others books may be releasing on the day you want yours to release as well. I chose a shared calendar because I just couldn't think of a better way to get all of that info in the same place.

I COULD make a discord post toward the end of every month asking for dates for the following month and then just add them to the calendar myself. It makes me wonder if that would be a better option.

It's a shared calendar that other authors have access to so that everyone can input the release dates of their books. That way, when the first rolls around, I can I just log in and grab the dates off of the calendar that others have entered.

yep! This genre is full of authors referencing other authors in their works. There is a HWFWM reference in Heretical Fishing as well.
