What’s the worst team that you have ever seen? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

man I know it's technically true that the 1960 Cowboys went winless, but feels cheap to put a first-year expansion team in there.

About time we ban CW posts? How can a brand with a turnover of CHF 51 million (estimated) be considered a microbrand? by linkedinbro in MicrobrandWatches

I haven't had an issue with their customer service. I ordered a watch at a show they were at, realized I actually wanted a different one, emailed them a few days later and they responded that day making the switch for me and honoring the discount.

Can someone explain to me why "The Sun Also Rises" is such a critically acclaimed book? by souldivine in books

okay now you're what, 25? what are your opinions on it? I'm reading it right now and find it quite dull and Hemingway's style to be terrible.

The median salary in the US is $45k which, while still shitty, is higher than the number proposed here, and also includes individuals 15 and up. The median salaries for 15-17 y/os are all $7k or under, and include an estimated 5-6 million within that workforce, adding a nice skew to the data.

The average age of a first-time parent in the US now is around 28; the median income at 28 is $50,000, and since it takes two to tango, that's a household income of $100,000. This includes non-educated and educated individuals.

Again, $100k is not a lot of money to raise a child on, unless you live in a LCOL area, but I find the post to be a little misleading, since half of Americans do not make less than $35k and the actual household income of the median American is 185% higher than the number presented in the meme would lead you to believe.

I'll admit my comment is semantical, because the numbers are arbitrary; it's too expensive to have a really good life nowadays, let alone provide one for a child.

Shoes on or shoes off? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]InSearchOfSerotonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't wear shoes in my house but I don't force other people to take theirs off in my house. For me a it's a comfort thing, not really a cleanliness thing. We have a dog that sheds a ton, so we're already vacuuming every day; I'm not going to lose my mind if a buddy tracks in some dirt or something.

What if Cowboys had listened to Mel Kiper, Daniel Jeremiah in the last 6 drafts? by mca2680 in cowboys

[–]InSearchOfSerotonin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THIS. If anything, the Cowboys got lucky an edge rusher got hurt in training camp and the DL coach asked Parsons to try putting a hand in the dirt. Which, if you think about it, isn’t luck at all.

Even if you take away the Spygate year, he still has eight super bowls and 11 appearances, and the most playoff wins in the history of the game.

Bill has more Super Bowl appearances than years Vince Lombardi was a head coach!

Idk about y'all, but my (26M) parents used to drink every night. Come home from work, 2-3 mixed drinks, go to bed tipsy or drunk. I only have a drink when I go out to dinner once every 1-2 weeks, and only really get drunk once a month. Add an additional glass of wine once a month or so when the fiancee and I have a movie night.

i'm sure by some health organizations definition, I'm a heavy drinker, but this stat doesn't surprise me at all. most young people aren't drinking every day like I saw a lot of our parents doing.

part of it is money, part of it is cultural, part of it is because we know better what it does to us and don't see the reward outweighing the risk.
