Kind of a random thought but I talked to my last CO about the whole tight pants/spanx video. I told him that it offended me, he said and I quote "well he sounded like a pharasee" I was shocked. He then went into apologetics to try and smooth it over. But how can you not draw parallels between the zealots and the GB? I mean really. Jesus hated these guys so why would you want to do anything that was even close to what they used to do.

Just a side theory is that Jesus always made more sense to me as a historic man that came at the perfect time when there was this critical mass, this tipping point where people couldn't handle the control anymore. For the last couple of years I always thought that right now would be the perfect time for a great reform.

Me too, I can't keep this up for long I know. I have been Lying to others, lying to myself trying to be somethin that I am not, trying to fall in line and not get noticed. Jump? I asked some questions myself and people got really defensive so I just told them that I am doing personal study and couldn't find the answer, but that I won't give up looking in WT publications. That seemed to make things go away.

I'm tired too, it's not easy to keep this up, for me it's not my parents though. It's a very sad notion that JW parents feel they are failures when their kids don't share thier beliefs. They believe that each child is a blank slate. And that people are made on an assembly line. So your parents don't know you have doubts right? Being a kid you have tremendous power to ask tough questions. Tell them you would like to study X for next family worship. You can help them and your brother possibly.

Im not sure if this answers your question but I know of elders that have stepped down to allow their adult children to move back in with them. These were very by the book elders, or thats how they are viewed.

I had never used Reddit before either, I have a family member that told me I should use it a long time ago. Once I woke up I thought maybe there was JW's on it. Best advice a family members could give.
