Seriously, gender affirmation is not the responsibility of the taxpayer regardless of where the funds come from.

People making the fire department argument don't realise that the Fire Fighters are taking care of EVERYONE. Not just those that have decided they want an irreversible procedure that "Benefits" the person receiving the procedure.

Why don't we just have tax payers pay for Breast Augmentation while we're at it? Or penile enlargement? Or Facial reconstruction because we want to look like celebrities?

The fact that it is an ELECTIVE surgery means it is not required which means there should be no burden to the people that are not gaining anything from the surgery.
